I have a KDC-138 deck. I inserted a CD and it is not not playing or ejecting. When I hit the eject button it sounds like it is trying but won't come out. Also when I switch between sources now it does not show CD as an option at all.

First if your still under warranty return for new player if not carefully remove top and bottom covers check for any clear tape holding cd door shut or Look at LED sensors blocked by strofoam or cardboard that may have gotten inside the home position guide (the tray that holds the CD) the LED's are located at the front where the door first opens and at the rear where the CD goes deepest into the player, lightly clean with cotton ball and alcohal first remove hot wire ,Now turn cd player upside down and tilt side to side listen for loose screws or other debree check make sure belts are all tight by lightly tugging with index finger turn gears only one eighth of a turn never force anything, if they move that is a good sign, by moving the gears out of position when it is turned back on it will try to find home position, reconnect hot wire and try CD player again.Do not get grease on LED's make sure there is nothing on the CD like a sticker making the cd to thick will clog the device.if still no joy hand turn the gears until the cd is all the way out.Try different CD again never force good luck
This condition appears a few reasons: - Burned disc. These players don't always like burned CD's. Try burning your discs slower (like 8x instead of 40x, yes this makes a difference) or using higher quality CD-R's. Made in Japan discs are the best (Taiyo Yuden). Yes this also makes a difference. - Dirty or scratched disc. - Dirty Laser. I've had really good luck with those CD cleaners. It is a CD with some small brushes on the bottom. Worth a shot. - Deck is plain junk.
Actually, yes! That could very well damage any unit without a protection mode. Unfortunately, in my long time experience in car audio, a deck that spits cd's out has a damaged or misaligned laser lens. This could be caused by driving to fast through pot holes, speedbumps, or going down train tracks. Find an electronics repair shop locally to see if having it repaired will out weigh a new deck. I found one new in box on ebay for $89 + shipping.
I just had this problem today and when I attempted to eject the CD it would give me an error message that stated (ERR 32). Apparently this means that there is something blocking the movement of the screen, a little manipulation should help the issue. Another variable could be the Eject lock feature, essentially a "child lock" for your disc. When this lock is activated it prevents the CD in the deck to be ejected. You can change this by holding down the blue source button and the eject button simultaneously for about 2 or 3 seconds. A message should appear saying "No Eject" and one that repeatedly flashes "Eject on" These two things seemed to help me alot when I had this issue. If those things don't work I would recommend calling JVC, much to my suprise they were actually really helpful. Their number is 1-800-252-5722.
you need cleaning and maintenance on your radio if you want to eject the disk theres a little tiny button on the face you will need a pin push it in and this should eject your disk
