SOURCE: Waste ink absorber

hi i am a certiffied Canon repair tech for this model. this is true this will reset the error but doing so without replacing the waste asorber pad in the bottom of the machine will cause your machine to backup waste ink into the the printing area of the machine and will start smuging ink on the page. the waste absorber is fairly cheap but the labor varies from shop to shop. there are independent Canon repair shops throughout the world. you can call 1-800-ok- canon or look on the canon website. hope this help to clairify.

SOURCE: error code 5100 on canon pixma mx700

5100 says the carriage is not moving all the way across the paper path. There could be grease or ink on the encoder strip, the clear strip behind the carriage. Or a small paper scrap inside stopping the carriage.

you shouldn't need to edit the file, it's far more likely there are settings in your printer configuration (most likely your computers print setup) that need to be corrected

I have many numerous issues how do i empty waste hold?

Is this the inkjet waste ink holder? If so it is the death knell for the printer and is a hint from the maker that you have had it too long. There is no fix, time for a new one, which you will find are greatly improved as regards wireless, colour, quality and speed.

I can recommend the Canon MG7120.

I have a canon pixma MG7120 printer and it keeps saying theres is no paper in the cassette when there is.

You might find there are two paper paths or cassettes. In which case the machine may be trying to take paper from the OTHER one. If that isn't the problem, then the paper sensor arm has been dislodged and needs to be found and repositioned

I am just setting up my new MX350 All-in-one printer and when I have plugged it in and hit the On button, the screen displays a printer error with the number 5100 on top. What do I do?

error 5100 means that you have not removed all the packing tape and protective plastic. The manual is a but confusing. You must open the printer as if you were isntalling the print cartridges and remove the packing material from inside the printer.

I have a new pixma ip5200 inkjet, never used and it just comes up

Dear hemi1223,
It seems that the printer has problem with feeding mechanism. Here are possibilities: some materials block paper end so it does not reach paper cam sensor, paper feed sensor error, broken paper left inside printer and sheet feeder part broken. I suggest you to take your printer to the nearest service center.

Regards,

Remove protective material on right side - can't remove it

In all likely hood you just ruined the printer. Take it back to the store and tell them you bought it that way. ;)

Generally all protective objects for removal are colored neon, obviously labeled as such, or are simply tape. The protective material they indicated is most likely either a piece of tape across the print head or a plastic plug, which may or may not have even been there depending on if the printer was a return, it fell loose, etc. before you got it home or took it out of the box.
