My lg tv vertical ic found damaged. number not vicible and i cannot replace it. tv model number is 21sb5rle-t8. how can i get the ic number.

If you can still read your serial number you can contact the manufacturer to get the details on this product? EVERY manufacture requires to keep this information on file for years past to current. I know since I've worked for a projector manufacturer. My version is :
For safety reason you should replaced them ( Horizontal ic,Vertical ic, Deflection ic) and olso all the big capasitor nearest the ic....that's my version....if you have big budget for it....he..he....

you are in luck my friend!  i just performed a fix on a gateway plasma that has LG boards inside.  It is exactly what you are talking about.  Go to the attached link and follow the thread carefully and read it all before starting.  IT WILL WORK!

Here IC specsheet:LA78041

Also replace the 100uf/35 volt cap on pin three of the IC and the two zener diodes connected to the IC. That is part of standard repair. If you don't replace the whole lot the IC may blow again.

Here the IC for sale. Cost is less than $5.
