If your batteries did not leak at all, and corrode th points where the. Batteries make contact, then it could be something very serious on the main board, or something simple like the on/off switch. Really it's the sort of problem that needs to be seen by someone. I'd check the battery connections first, then make absolutely sure the batteries are going in the right way around. Flat end is - and pointed tip end is +. Good luck

SOURCE: Batteries

This happens with almost all digital cameras. You have a couple options. first you can buy lithium batteries, which are a little more expensive but last considerably longer in digital cameras.

The second is you can buy rechargeable batteries, which in my opinion is the best option because you can reuse them, and they also last really long in digital cameras.

the problem is, you just cant really put normal batteries in digital cameras. Lame but true

I hope that my answer was of help!

Camera wont turn on

If you bought the camera in January, it's still under warranty for a year. When you get home call 1-800-OK-CANON to arrange warranty repair. They're usually very good about it, and will try to make things right.

Camera immediate shuts off after turning it on

try using lithium or nimh rechargeable batteries. I had the same problem and switched out the batteries and put in eveready nimh batteries and it works fine now. Guess the old cheap ones weren't doing the job. And they were brand new batteries.

Camera wont turn on/off

I went to another problem, knowing my camera was stepped on, I messed around with moving the lens part around, barley moving it, and then I tried holding the on/off button and the button to take the pics with, and then put in new batteries and it turned on. I would suggest doing that.

Digital camera

1. Check batteries.
2. Connect camera to an AC adapter.
3. Remove all batteries, disconnect AC adapter, wait a minute, reinsert batteries and reconnect adapter. Turn on camera.

Sony handycam video hi8

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
good luck

Digital camera

Take batteries out and clean the base of the battery compartment with a pencil eraser do the same with the battery compartment cover contact's now try. If that fail hold the battery compartment tight then turn on. If it comes on then - open the compartment and lay a piece of foil across the batteries and close the lid. does it work? No to bad it dies but you should have a warranty- do you have other proof of purchase?
