That sounds fairly obvious and correct. Sounds like you are putting a positive wire to ground earth. You must have a wiring diagram....or perhaps you changed the plug type and recited incorrectly.

Its wired to a harness u bought for an aftermarket radio

  • saranden Nov 24, 2013

You must have a wiring diagram for either the original radio or the aftermarket radio. Each wire has a significance, ie yellow wire positive right speaker. Blue wire positive left speaker etc. that is just an example. If this helps you, I am happy. Black is generally ground on a car hifi. Except for a speaker negative, it is not a ground wire.

There you go, someone has cleverly provided you with the recipe for success. Follow the colour codes provided and don't ground any of them which should not be! Bye

Problem solved the harness I had bought had an orange wire and I had them connected. The solution was to not wire them together

Pioneer DEH-P5800MP CD Player not powering on.

did you try the fuse behind the wireharness. if so check the yellow wire and the red one for power. also check if you have ground on it. if you want to make things simpler try to connect the black wire to the battery neg. and the yellow and red together on the positive of the battery and see if it turns on.

Tail and dashboard fuse keeps blowning

unhook black wire from harness and the ground from pioneer unit install the ground wire from pioneer unit to frame of car (you may need extra wire to do this) make sure the black wire from pioneer unit is bolted to frame of car not to the harness black wire........fuses will no longer blow and you will have your lights.
hope this helped

Radio problems

does the radio also go out?
if not, then you miss wired something as in the orange wire or your after market wireharness adaptor is incorrect.
Recommend buying a repair manual to double check proper wiring
