Unable to transfer particurlars on photo to CD or UBS

I use the Picasa facility to type particulars of a photo onto it, when I transfer these photos to a CD or UBS the particulars disappear from the photos. When I go to "my pictures" and find these photos there, there is an icon right at the outset of the pictures in which is contained all the missing particulsrs. What do I have to do to ensure that the particulars on the photos are transfered the the photos? I shall value your help. Sincerely, Cyril. I use Windows 7.

All the "particulars" are stored within the Picassa software. Since you are coping the pictures and not Picassa itself this data will be lost. The data is stored in Picassa - not the photos.

SOURCE: I have a new Acer One D260 netbook. It was working

There are several ways to fix this error and its most likely cause was when inserting a USB device or CD/DVD Rom the auto startup menu has been selected to open the files using the specified programme, so you have to go back into the system and deselect it as follows:

Click on "Start"
Select "Default programs" from the menu
Select "Default programs"
Select "Autoplay settings" you will see "Choose what happens when you insert each type of media or device", scroll down the options and restore them all to "?Ask me every time"

OR

Click on "Start"
Select "Default Programs" from the menu.
Select "SEt your default programs"
Find "Photo Viewer" and select it then deselect it from the list by selecting "Choose defaults from this program" and deselect the file type from the list.

OR

Open "control panel"
Select "recovery" from the menu
Select "choose a different restore point"
You will be given several option dates. Try and remember when it was OK and fins a date before that time.

How do I transfer my pictures from the kodak easyshare to the shutterfly gallery? I cannot even transfer my recently added pictures to the Kodak gallery.

If your pictures are in jpg format, you can download Picasa, free from Google at http://picasa.google.com/ and use it to upload your photos. You can also do it using your browser if it handles Flash. If not, use the one by one uploader at Shutterfly. I recommend using Picasa, because it will find all the pictures on your PC and sort them by date. It includes a photo editor and facial recognition too. I would drag all your pictures to the "Pictures" folder to make it easier to work with them.

Kodak z710 I cannot transfer photos onto my computer.

It may be time to buy a card reader for your computer. You can get one at a department or electronics store for not much more than a cup of coffee.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Show me how to transfer photos from camera to computer

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera so I'll assume it uses a memory card of some type.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
