CD player won't eject CD and does not recognize the CD

I have a 1995 GMC Sierra with the cd player separate from the radio/cassette player. It is placed below the heater controls which is below the actual radio. The cd player has recently been very difficult to play any cd on and would read 'err' and eject the cd. Recently this occurred but after re-inserting the cd, the player would not recognize the cd as being present, did not eject the cd and would not respond to the manual eject button. How do I manually remove the cd from the player.

I realize this post is a little old , but for anyone looking for a solution try disconnecting your negative battery terminal for a minute or so then reconnect. Next try to eject your cd. Worked for me ^^

SOURCE: my ford ka cd player only plays out of one speaker

When I first got my Ka, the wiring between the car and the door was snapped. If you open the door there is a rubber tubing, if u assume 2 wires are snapped and try 2 pull them together through the rubber tubing you should hear a crackle if thats the fault. Even if you do not, it will almost certainly be this. To fix it, you need 2 use a stanley knife 2 cut open the rubber tubing then connect the to snapped wires together. I did this by getting a small amount of speaker cable and adding it 2 both ends, using plenty of insulation tape. This is the most common fault for speaker problems in the Ka.

Hope this Helps

1990 lexus ls400 cassette player will not read or play my cassetes. i put in my cassettes but my front tape flap doesn't close and it automatically switches back to the radio.

The player has to seize the cassette as it is inserted and seat it in the correct position to be played. Sometimes the manual eject linkage becomes defective or misadjusted, preventing the cassette from seating correctly. The eject button may depress fully without causing ejection or it may depress but not cause ejection.

I have a 2001 Honda Crv, the cd player keeps ejecting CDs before it has the chance to load them. The radio works fine, and I gave tried burnt and original disc CDs. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Are these CDs that you burned yourself? Older CD players won't recognize the audio file format of this kind of recording, only the established file format that typical retail CDs have used for years. In recent years, CD players have been developed to recognize more file types than just the old format; but with an older player like you have in your car, it wouldn't recognize what you were trying to play, as if you put a DVD in. It balks, and spits it out. You can burn CDs with the correct file format, you just need the appropriate software or file translator.

Cal err

cal error is not a big deal it is just a programming adjustment, it is not the cause of the cd fault. GM radios have a history of cd drive failures. we fix them alot. if you buy another used radio then you will need to reprogram it to work with your truck. or getting it fixed will not need to get programmed.

Cd player malfunction

These units will not recognize certain media formats, notably, if you are burning your CD's with files in AAC, WMA, or MP3 format. I would highly recommend replacing the factory head unit with one that is aftermarket. You can do so with units that start around $100. The bonus is that you can get something that is iPod or MP3 player ready and never have to look at a CD again!

What the writer seems to be referring to is the same problem that I have with my 2003 Passat CD player. It keeps ejecting the CD. As quickly as you insert it, the CD player ejects it. The radio and cassette player work fine. Any ideas?
