SOURCE: Hitachi 55VG825 rear proj television blinking light and screen doesn't light up

Refer to owners manual ! Blinking indicates the type of fault that is occuring on all your tv sets. example : power light on red - indicator light beside it green but blinks rapidly for half a second rapidly then shuts off. This refers to a faulty lamp or a lamp that is near its expiration. Read your manuals if indicators refer to easy repair sweet, but if it says call tech then bummer...

Blue spots on Sony WEGA KDF60XS955

Thats caused by a bad optical block. The cost of that repair will almost always be greater than replacing the TV.Thats a very common issue with alot of Sony DLP models which suffered that optical block issue with the blobs of color usually blue or green

What do i need to fix this "blue Blob" so everyone is calling it. it looks like my screen is broke but i know better

You would need an Optical Block
SONY P/N A-1084-660-A
LIST PRICE $ 552.39
CORE CHARGE $1,060.00
(I'd be really sure to return that old one to get that core chrg back)

OR
(very complicated)
You would need to know how to dissasemble a sony lcd optical block (and put it back together).

AND

Obtain the correct polarization filter for the blue optical path.

IF

There is no damage to the blue LCD panel yet(one symtom is blue dots like stars in the pic).

50 INCH rear projection LCD Gettign blue spots on screen forming a circle?

A discolored Blob or blotchy pattern usually in the center of the screen. the problem is becoming all too common with Hitachi projection sets. What happens is that one of the lenses in the optical block (or light engine) starts to burn or discolor due to overheating because of a blocked air filter causing poor air (cooling) circulation. Nothing can be done when the damage is too far-gone except to replace the light engine-at a cost that makes it not worth repair. if the damage is minimal than to reduce further damage, the air filter should be replaced. The Light engine needs to be removed in order to replace the air filter

Have it checked by a tech it's worth the service call to know for sure

I have a hitachi 50 in rear projection tv and i am getting a yellow circle through out the middle of the screen what do you think that is and how do i fix it?

I looked back and see your talking about a crt type. My bad. A small yellow spot is most likely dirt or a bug in the blue optics. Tale the front off the set and with the tv on look down into the lenses. If you see a blob of dirt or a bug this is your trouble. Be careful not to move the blue tube but take the lens assembly off and clean the surfaces. There are four screw that hold just the lens assembly. The other screws shouldn't be touched. It will need alignment otherwise.

Blue streak at bottem of screen

Hello,

You have the classic "blue blobs," In most of Sony's rear projection LCD's, the Optical block is bad. Manufacturer's defect. The blue panel inside of the optical block starts de-laminating (due to heat from the lamp). This is a very common problem. I have changed about 70-80 optical blocks myself over the course of about 4 years.

There is no other fix but to replace the optical block. Unfortunately, it will get worse, and will probably develop "stars," or stuck pixels, as well. You can call Sony and try to get some assistance, but the extended warranty on these sets has recently expired.

Hope this helps you in some way...
