Test the battery with the Multimeter and see if have the voltage indicated in the plate. Otherwise you mus clean the contact with alcohol isopropyl to 100% from dirty, oxide, corrosion, and tight the spring with plier for better contacts. Try again.

God bless you

I have a korg n1 and when I turn it on the display screen comes on but no words show up on it I was wondering how to fix it

It sounds like your ROM battery, which the ROM contains and stores the patches for the keyboard, has gone completely dead and your keyboard is dead in the water. However, if you can get a MIDI to USB converter and get the battery changed, then you can reload the patches back onto the keyboard.

I have worked on a Korg M1 Workstation and have had to replace the battery(CR2032) and then had to run a program called "MIDI-OX" which also gave me access to the patches needed in order to restore the keyboard to factory patch settings.

http://www.midiox.com/

Take a look at this AFTER you have gotten the battery replaced. I will tell you that replacing most batteries is a very intricate job as, the bottom of the keyboard has to be removed, as well as a lot of the internal boards. I had to draw a diagram and mark certain pieces so I would know where they went and in what order they have to be re-attached. My advice is take it to someone who works on electronics unless you want to DIY (not recommended) to get the battery replaced.

Hope this helps.

When I turn on my Kurzweil PC2X, the LCD screen shows the message 'Scanner is dead!' followed by 'battery voltage low (0.0 volts).' The lights on the keyboard flash at me and the keyboard won't make any...

Try a factory reset.

Turn the unit on, and while the display says "Please Wait", press and release the Panic button. Press the right arrow button till the display says "Hard RESET". Press Enter, then the button under "Yes" in the display.

Dr. beat will not turn on

Most of the problems with these type units are due to dead batteries or incorrect power adapters and broken power jacks, Check for those things use ONLY the original type power adapter.

Light is dead all fuses are good.. Maybe bad transformer ?

Probably NOT the transformer as most of these have switching type supplies. A Chauvet unit I have would not light and the problem was the socket for the Halogen bulb. The socket had burned and the contacts were so burned they would not contact the bulb. Worse, you can't even see the problem as the socket is ceramic and has a mica like cover. Replacement of the socket fixed the problem. In the Chauvet unit they had a very cleaver lamp power supply. That threw me off because there was no voltage at the socket... until I put the Oscilloscope on it... then there were tiny spikes. It turns out the supply sends tiny spikes out and IF the lamp is there and contacts are good, the supply senses the load and the feedback starts driving the supply to full output. I wasn't able to see the burned contact until I uncapped the socket. Just maybe you have a similar problem. These 250 watt Halogens with the tiny pins carring 11 amps just are ******* the contacts in the sockets.

I have a beringer 5000 mixer and can not get no sound from it. it's like the speakers are not getting power

Oh, oh... got one on the bench now... There is a design defect that causes a short and destruction in the power amp portion.

Do a test: Plug headphones into the main 1/4 inch jacks. The sound won;t be very loud since these are line outputs, not for headphones.

IF you get sound out those, then one or both power amps are dead.

Worst case: if one amp is dead, several parts including three power MOSFET transistors are fried for any of the dead channels.
The failure of the amp can wipe out the main power supply. If you effect windows light up, then the small power supply is operating.
If the big supply is fried, there are two large MOSFET switching transistors that are gone. Often several smaller transistors and dides and resistors and one switching IC goes. MOST of these are surface mounted parts and would be beyond the scope of what you can repair.

I am trying to contact Behringer about the flaw but haven't heard back yet.

The nature of the flaw is this: The is insufficient clearance on an internal circuit layer from the edge that fits into a slot in the power amp heatsink. Any humidity that enters can cause the insulation to breakdown and arc to the heatsink causing a chain reaction.
I repaired one of these already before finding the cause, but this one had a smoking gun! I just yesterday milled out the slot deeper and wider and will put insulating tape to prevent further arcing. The arcing that had occured burned away the internal layer and the connections. I will replace thoose with hardwire.

Repair of this problem is time consuming to weed out all the blown parts and to safely bring the unit back to life.

The current unit I am working on took out ONLY the power amp. A 30 milliohm resistor went up in smoke making a real mess. All three power MOSFETS are gonzo and a zener as well... don't know what else I will find. The previous unit was worse as the power supply was wiped as well.

No sound from Yamaha Electone HS-6

First check if you get sound from the headphone jack.

Do you hear anything as the power comes on from the speakers..? A slight bump?

A lot of these dead audio things can be traced to a failure at the expression pedal. often these use a light dependent resistor and the illuminating lamp burns out. This is all down by the pedal.

Many of the Yamaha organs, including the FX20 I have, have circuitry that checks that the power amp has DC balance before a relay closes to connect the speaker. A failure in the amp can cause dead sound as well.

Replacement for an akai 10.5v 300ma adapter

The voltage won't be that critical... 10 to 11 will work. Just make sure the type (AC or DC) matches AND the polarity for the DC units.
Often these can be found at thrift stores.
