If your battery has been installed for a long time [and never removed] you can get CORROSION build-up on your terminals [as with any battery]. This will quite often prevent correct charging from happening.
Try removing your battery and cleaning the metal terminals [also clean the contact points in your computer for the same reason].
High humidity work-place situations can also cause this problem.
OR your battery may be at the end of its "useful life" [around 2 years or so if constantly used without an AC power source]; so you may need to replace your battery.
Most battery suppliers can TEST your battery for you ... ok

SOURCE: NEW Battery not properly charging

Batteries have electronics data that software has to get to properly charge it. Newer lithium batteries maybe different. But apparently, you have a work around for a lengthy use of the new battery.

How can I charge my my archos 70 cobalt tablet it says not charging and will not charge

The correct procedure to charge the battery is to plug in the device in when it is powered off, and then do *nothing* - just let it do it's thing: It will power on by itself and then eventually go into sleep mode and keeps charging. Just let it be.

You may wish to switch off wifi while charging as it is the second biggest drain on the battery (the screen is the biggest!), and having wifi on may suck some of the power away from the battery charge and into the wifi hardware also try getting a charger just like original, sometimes during transport from warehouse to store where u purchased your tablet things get knocked around and or damaged, but the store is not aware until u bring it to their attention

Not charging

The battery is not working as it should. Either, replace the whole lot under warranty or leave the battery on charge until it will accept a charge.

Charging battery

Sometimes if charged too long or your not around when the light does go off, after awhile the battery looses its charge. when that happens the charger will start to charge again and it will seem that it isn't working right or charging. in your instruction booklet it should tell you how long it should take to charge. some say 45 min some say hours. set a timer once you find the time recommended for your device, once it goes off unplug if light is off. good luck

Battery gets to 8% or so, I plug it in, it says it's charging but warning keeps flashing, screen dims off and on and then it shuts off. Charges fine when it's off. Seemed to work fine before.

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

My samsung jet keeps on going off and coming on. what should i do

try these trouble shooting.
1. check your battery if it's charging well
2. check your charger if it's giving the right capacity to work with the battery. sometimes it says fully charge but sometimes it was not really charge.
3. plug the usb cable to your computer where your NPS is installed and check if will goes on and off while being charged by the computer.

if somehow all of the above gives you the same issue,
then, ask the help from samsung service centers nearest in you.

My ps3 keeps saying ne detected controllers when one is plugged in, there are 4 red lights flasing on the controller which is plugged into the console, after 20 minutes still no controller detected, any...

You need to press the ps switch and see if it says charging. When the lights flash on the controller it means they are charging the batteries.
The only way I know of to fix this problem is to switch off the PS3 from the switch in the back. Then turn it back on.The PS3 will assign the controllers.

Sansa clip pc charging problem

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but it sounds like it could be faulty or old battery, they can sometimes stop taking a charge. Are you sure it needs to be charged? some devices detect if they need to be charged and dont allow it to be charged if it is already full.

Battery won't charge

A couple of things could be the problem.
A special circuit detects when the battery needs charging, it is suppose to charge the battery, that could be bad.Sometimes, a special circuit charges the battery WHILE playing the movie.
The battery could be 'dead' not charging and the same circuit tells it to bypass charging and go directly to turning on the set.
If you got it from a person that has the knowledge, they could have bypass the charging circuit and wired it to just turn on.
You did not say that you got it new and in 'charging ' working order.
Usually the batteries have to be replaced after a number of charging. [you did not say how long you had the machine.
If you know how to do it, replace the batteries. If not get someone to do the job.The cost of batteries and labor.
