You need to change the battery of the wireless mouse...and if that doesn't fix the problem ..then am pretty sure one of your home wireless gadget is interereing with the signal......best of luck

How do i fix keystrokes that jump backward as I type?

Some Lenovo touchpads are over sensitive and they cause the cusor to slip or jump around. In Control Panel select Mouse or Touchpad. A box will open and you can locate touchpad Properties and adjust the sensitivity. Lenovo also has updated touchpad software/drivers for one or two of the most troublesome models. i was able to reduce the cursor jumping around quite a bit by adjusting the sensitivity, but i still don't think it's a good design.

I just bought a new computer (Lenovo G580, Model Name: 20157, PC Laptops with Windows 8) on November 23, 2012. A Windows 8 problem? I have experienced my cursor jumping around randomly while typing

Straight from the user guide, just discovered it today because I have also been having this frustrating problem. Use Fn + F6 - it is a toggle switch to enable and disable the Touchpad. I have a Lenovo wireless mouse now instead.

When i type in my MS word or replying mail using outlook, my cursor jumps to somewhere, actually it just happened several times when i type this message

On your touch pad exists a place that works like a scroller on the mouse (Usually the right part of pad with white lining). When you rest your wrists in this area, the cursor usually jumps in another place. I'm of course hoping that this is the problem and that your touch pad works fine. Try it and please tell me if this fails..

When I am typing he cursor jumps around

It is a fault with Lenovo laptops. My cursor jumps all the time, no matter what software I am using. It is NOT the 'sensitivity' of the touchpad, for my cursor jumps even when I am not typing, even if I don't touch the laptop! I can set the cursor to a certain point on a document and then, after about 30 seconds, it will just jump to another point, even if I am in another room.

Cursor jumps around

Does the cursor jump around when your hands are nowhere near the touchpad? The touchpads are heat and pressure sensitive. I personally have very warm (and sometimes sweaty) hands. I have this problem often when working on laptops. If I hover my hands over the pad, it causes the mouse to move. I've had to take a business card, put tape on one side of it, and use it as a flip-cover for the touchpad on most of my laptops. If the cursor moves around when you're nowhere near the laptop, then you may want to try disabling the pointing stick (if it has one). I've had several clients with laptops where the pointing stick mouse control go crazy and move and click on things.

Cursor jumps around

If your cursor moves erratically on the screen (for example, if it jumps around the screen, moves at varying speeds, or selects items on its own), perform the following steps:
  1. Clean the surface of the touchpad with a dry, soft cloth to remove grease, sweat, moisture, or other liquids.
  2. Adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad:.
    1. Click the Start button and click Control Panel.
    2. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
    3. Click Mouse.
    4. When the Mouse Properties window appears, click the Pointer Options tab. (Figure 1)

      Figure 1: Pointer Speed
    5. Under Select a pointer speed:, click to move the slider bar closer to Slow.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Check to see if the touch pad still behaves erratically.
  3. If the touchpad still caused the cursor to behave erratically, attach an external mouse to your computer and restart your computer. Use the external mouse to see if your cursor still moves erratically.
