This would depend on what you're converting. A temperature difference of 400 degrees F would be a difference of 222.22 degrees C. A temperature of 400 degrees F would be a temperature of 204.44 degrees C.

T(°C) = (T(°F) - 32) × 5/9
or
T(°C) = (T(°F) - 32) / (9/5)
or

Water too hot

Hot water is most often 10 degrees colder when it arrives at your machine from when it leaves your hot water heater. In general hot water is 130 degrees Fahrenheit (54.4 Celsius) or above. Warm water is between 110 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit ( 43.3-32.2 Celsius). Cold water is generally between 80 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7-15 Celsius). If cold water is below 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15 Celsius), clothes are unlikely to be cleaned very well.
