Question about Apex Digital Televison & Video
I bought the TV at Target on clearance last fall and the TV no longer seems to be receiving commands from the remote. I did verify that the remote is sending IR but the TV is not receiving IR?
IR LED at TV circuit is failing. Verify whether crack in soldering or any damage in internal circuit.

SOURCE: TV does not respond to remote
Then it is likely that the infra red receiver in the TV set is faulty - or possibly the 5 volt supply to the receiver.
The signals from the infra red receiver usually enter the system control integrated circuit. So if other control functions are working ok this is likely to be good.
It is possible that other equipment can block the remote signal - if another remote controller is stuck on [jammed down a crack in the sofa] or if you use energy saving lamps in the same room - they can produce high levels of infra red noise.
Please take time to rate my assistance - I hope it is useful.

make sure that your remote has a line of sight to the tv. often a small antenna is added to enhance reception. also check to be sure your remote batteries are aok.

You may have failed Remote receiver in the TV. Need to check the voltages on the remote receiver board fist.
Parts: try www.shopjimmy.com or Ebay

Just got a new Samsung Flat screen today and am new technology challenged. Cannot sleep because the red light is still on on the tv set, read the instructions, and would this red light mean that it is in standby mode? Do I unplug the tv from the wall? I am getting very sleepy.

SOURCE: I just bought a apex
Just call Charter customer service and they should be able to assist. I just had to do it for a Samsung I have. That is a bit of an off brand, so the Charter remote may not have a built in code available for that TV. Good luck.
