Russound CA6.4 amp / controller - 3 of the 6 zones can't switch source inputs.

I suspect the inputs will all go into an IC. You just need to trace one of them back till you come across it. Either the circuit around it will be the problem, or more likely the IC itself.

Just saw this on fixya - if you still have the system I would recommend going to Russound.com Support under integration to download the updated firmware for the TCH1 or look into the new perkins innovation unit that supports the new My Russound App

I have a Russound Cat 6.6 6 zone receiver that will not power on. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it? Is there by chance a reset on it?

If you are getting no lights on the front of the CAV check the plug connection to the back of the unit as well as the plug on the power strip. Make sure the fuse on the back of the unit is not blown. The specific fuse rating is listed in the manual as well as on the back of the unit. If it is still not powering up you may have to request service from the company.

No sound from Russound ss-4 after connecting to BACK surround speaker connections on the 2807.

Check the speaker setup configuration in the setup menu. Many times the surround back speaker terminals can be assigned to something else like zone 2. They may just be turned off.

I have no output on my Russound ca6.4. All lights on console and room controllers appear to function. Input double checked. Could amp be fried?

CA6.4 that has no sound, but all other funtcions are fine, has a problem with protection IC 10 (uPC12370). Check the Cap C28 (2.2uF/50V). If you read any AC
Volatge on that Cap, it means Cap is dry. Replace it with 4.7uF/50V and go back to
your regular duties.
P.S. Since the unit is discontinued, I would love to see basic diagram, available from the manufacturer for download, for easy troubleshooting. I had to spend feew precious minutes to fix that.

I wish to control volume on 4 pairs of speaks at 4 different locations please

What you will need is an autoformer based speaker selector with volume control for 4 speaker pairs. This will take the left and right speaker wire out from your amplifier and distribute it to 4 pairs of speakers. Each pair of speakers gets it own volume control so you can control each room sound independently. It will also do speaker impedance matching so that your amplifier is not being over driven by the 4 pairs of speakers. The manual for the product you purchase will aid you in the proper settings of the auto former control. You can find this product from companies like Russound or Niles.

Onkyno receiver shuts off

My SR605 gets extremely hot. This is especially true when both amplifiers are running together supporting 2 separate channels. I added a 2 way speaker selector from Russound that supports 2 sets of 8 ohm speakers on Zone 2 and the receiver shuts down at about 74 dcbs and gets very hot. Checked the jumpers on the selector and they are set at 8ohms.

Have returned the Russound selector to them and had it checked out. Appears to be fine. Even when Zone 2 is not in use the receiver gets extremely hot. It is in a wood cabinet wih glass doors but even with the door open the temperture is very hot. As the volume is raise the heat increases and the receive trips off.

Very unusual in my opinion. Is this normel for the receiver to heat up as the volume is increased.
