I think my SA PWS15 powered speaker got plugged into a powered output from a PA. I figure the input section is probably toasted. It sounds ok for a while...then it starts intermittently over driving, and spiking the volume. Was hoping to get some insight before i opened-er up.

I apologize for posting this question as a SOLUTION..lol..I'm new to these sites.

Change the signal cable and be certain your volume potentiometer on the amplifier board on the speaker hasn't been hit or damaged in any way. If so, you will need to replace it. Alternatively you're not driving the speaker with a balanced source. Make sure your unbalanced connection is shorting pins 3 and 1 together while pin 2 is your signal hot. Don't wire anything to the shell of the connector.

Remove radio, antenna and volume intermitent

Please describe your problem in more detail. Do you mean you removed the radio and now the automatic antenna and volume are intermittent? Or perhaps you removed both the radio and antenna and now the volume is intermittent. Or perhaps you want to know how to remove the radio and antenna because the volume is intermittent.

Volume intermittently increases all the way to 100 and cannot be controlled by the remote

This happens with some models. You can open the TV from the back and disconnect the connector for the side control board. You will only have control via the remote but your volume issue should be resolved.

I also have a Sony STR-D365. Volume control works intermittently as well as right channel. Works if I "wind" the volume control up and down a bit and then goes out again. I reset it and no change. Any

There is a wiper on the back of the volume control that varies the resistance through the switch to control the volume. When you move it back and forth you are scraping the oxides off the switch and making it work again. I suggest you either get some contact cleaner and spray the control from inside (where the wiper is) or just change out the switch.

Sugden a21a - intermittent loss of channel - fading in and out sometimes left, sometimes right. Always corrects temporarily when fiddle with function knob or quickly turn up volume when it bursts forth....

had exactly the same problem myself, changed the balance, and the selector until Sugden suggested the relay. this did the job, and my amp is sorted. Shouldv'e changed this in the first place. Good as new. Shaun

Volume is intermittent

If anything works after it is moved suspect a bad solder joint somewhere.

The left side sound is intermittent

Sounds like dirt in the volume control or a high resistance speaker wire.
Try switching the right and left speaker wires and see if the problem changes.

Pioneer VSX 816

The rear signal is generated and separated internally, if either the processing is not correct or the rear channel amplifier has a problem, you can get this type of behavior. Does the static happen more often at higher volumes or is it purely random? Does changing the volume make the static louder or is it always the same level?

Fluctuation in sound output on Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speakers

Hi Paulus
A lot brand of speakers, like Sound Blasters, Logitech, Cambridge, has this (strange) kind of volume problem, sometimes, is the resistor, in the volume control, sometimes in the modulator for the board on the sound speakers, Subwofer.
I use a general tip is let the volume in one setting and don't move in the intermediate low volume say....9 .
from other thing, be change the speakers.
