Question about Computers & Internet
Here is the answer Microsoft posted when asked this question:
It's likely that you have a program on there - probably an anti-virus - that is interfering with IE. Microsoft's instructions in this case are pretty good; they recommend almost exactly what I would do in your situation. Good luck!

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

if you are running vista and you have pictures in you picture folder, the web cam will not work. just remove the pictures and it will work fine. Its a strange quirk but fixable.

Assuming this is vista who knows what the problem is I would notify hp as this unit is certainly in warrenty and it may have issues that need resolving at a higher level liek a new motherboard etc. I think a restore from your disks woul dbe a good place to start then see if it happens after the auto updates are installed.
hope this helps

Assuming windows XP Pro:
Go to control panel, internet Options, go through and set all settings to default, delete cookies and cache.
The workaround for now is to install latest Firefox browser.
