Hi! Thank you for your help. I have a Samsung TV

Hi Doug Rudnik,

First of all thank you for contacting Fixya.com regarding on your TV problem.

You've mentioned that you can hear a sound for 1 sec and then the unit immediately turned off and there's a constant red LED lit. The symptoms you've described indicates that the main board of your unit is working fine and it automatically shuts off because it sensed malfunction on image boards. The constant red LED means that it is on standby mode only.

Now, since you've replaced the power supply board but still the symptoms persist, then the suspect is either the X or Y sustain board but high chance that the fault came from the Y sustain board based on my experienced. Y sustain board is located on the left side of your unit while the X sustain board is on the right side if you are facing the rear cover. These boards has a ceramic fuse(white color) and pico fuse(looks like resistor), please check the continuity of the fuses to determine which board gone to malfunction. If you found an open fuse to Y-sustain board then you need to replaced it. Blown fuse means that the circuitry on its line gone to excessive current.

I would advice you also to inspect the electrolytic capacitors on these boards. Most of the time loud pop came from a blown capacitor and has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify through visual inspection. It can give you an idea also which board gone to malfunction. See sample picture below of faulty electrolytic capacitor with bulged dome at the top.

Here's the link for X and Y sustain board.

X sustain board

Hope I've gave you an idea what's going wrong to your set.

Have a nice day and take care!

Kind Regards,

The fuse in my BR 300 ATX power supply has blown, what is its replacement part

You need to replace the fuse and dis connect the power supply to the mother board and turn nit back on and if the fuse blowns again then it is the power supply, that is bad, bou if it blowns only when connected to the mother board, the mother has a bad component on it.

I am using microtek 810. Inverter section is ok. In the pcb there are two 40amp fuse which were blown off. suspected heavy current drainage. both fuses are in parallel and in the battery -ve line. i...

If this is a 12 volt battery situation, 24.6 volts is not doing good things for your batteries--it will buckle the inner plates causing immediate battery failure. Were the fuses themselves blown or just the fuse mounts which may have been underrated. You definitely need a schematic for this system--try googling 'microtek 810'. Good luck!

Same issue with drainage of water

CHECK ALL THE FUSES ON THE MOTHER BOARD FOR THE WASHER,YOU MIGHT HAVE A BLOWN FUSE OR A BLOWN RESISTOR ON THE BOARD ,AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO CALL A REPAIR MAN TO FIX THAT BOARD OR CHANGE IT OUT.

EMachine T2482 Computer won't power on or boot up.

Try removing the power cable from the power supply. Wait 10 seconds, and replace it again. Try powering up the computer. If it doesn't power up, check that the motherboard has power (there should be a LED on the board which is lit up. Of course, check the fuse also in the plug.

If the LED is on, you have a failed motherboard / Switch. If the LED is off, then you have a failed power supply. Beware though, if the PSU has blown, it could easily have taken the motherboard with it.
