Check worm gear . It is located under the clutch and sprocket. They are made out of plastic in newer saws. They in turn turn the gear that works the oil gear. These have been known to freeze if not cleaned (and hardly anybody does) . to clean it the whole oiler assembly has to be cleaned by removing it from the saw.

Clippers have suddenly stopped cutting and seem to pull at the hair

Generally removing the two screws.. on the blade foot (don't do this over the sink unless the drain is closed!).. and taking the blade apart.. cleaning the trimmers with a small brush.. apply grease in the blade groove.. reassemble

Usually it's best to put those two screws back just get them in lose.. not quite snug..set the blade upside down on a flat surface..so it pushes the blade back away from the cutting end..level..then tighten those screws while you are pushing or holding down on the clippers cutting edge against the flat surface/table. ... oil the blade with the proper oil or a light mineral oil.

This usually will get them back to cutting properly..the blade should be oiled prior to each use...about two to three drops right along the visible part..or a light spray also hair should be clean.. dirty hair does not cut well at all..and the clippers will tug and pull rather than cut cleanly.

Lastly..if they see a lot of use. might be blade replacement time..

Best of luck!

Each time I use my staples SPL-616X shredder all the paper gets stuck around the blades what can I do? Do I need to put some oil on the blades?

Yes you do need to oil the blades, but it is important to get the right oil. Most stores that sell shredders, like Staples Office Supply, also sell shredder oil. J.

I changed the blade, and now it won't start!

Did you replace the blade with a heavier blade, or an identical one? If the pull cord won't pull, it's usually either the blade or the blade shaft causing the problem. Try oiling the shaft and making sure nothing is obstructing the blade from turning.

If you have a pair of heavy gloves, try turning the blade by hand and see if it moves. Squirt some oil onto the shaft where it meets the mower and try turning it again.

Smoke when blades engaged on yardman 42'' yard tractor

The oil on your pulley could definitely be the culprit. You need friction in order for your belts to work properly.

Sharpen hedge trimmer blade??

My trick is to make sure that I always lube the blades after each session with a 3/4 engine oil + 1/4 kerosene mix - making sure that every tooth gets a drops or 2, then run it for a seconds to spread the oil & leave the blades overlapping. Doing this allows the blades to self sharpen I've found. 2 stroke oil , unmixed is about the perfect viscosity aswell.

Poulan 18" Chainsaw - Motor runs fine but blade stopped spinning

Chain may be locked in the bar. Caused by low oil flow to chain. You will probably have to remove the bar and blade. Then try to rotate the sprocket, if it will not rotate you may have to replace or repair the clutch. with the blade off try starting the saw and see if it is oiling. There is a small hole in housing that oil should be visible coming out at a fairly good rate. If not you will either have to open orifice in the housing or repairing the oil pump.

Oster Golden A5 Clippers will not cut

These kinds of clippers are fussy about oiling and dirt. It is essential that the blades be spotless and well oiled FREQUENTLY. Oil after every haircut always. Also, if there is not enough tension on the blades, the hair will slip between the blade and blade guard, getting caught and damaging the blades. Blades should be screwed on tight. Also, it may be time to replace the blade if nothing else helps. These blades do not last very long in my experience especially if not carefully cleaned and oiled.

Where do i put the oil to oil the blades

When oiling clippers you want to have them running and tilted blade down toward the floor. You put about 3 small drops right on the running blades. Then wipe off excess oil with a towel. You dont want the oil running back into the motor of the clipper. You should oil them about every other use. Good Luck!

Maintenance

The only part of this clipper that needs to be oiled is the blades. To oil the blades hold the clipper with the blades towards the floor. Put a few drops of oil across the blades. Turn the unit on and to get the oil worked into the blades. Turn the unit off and wipe off any excess oil with a soft cloth. The blades should be oiled before and after each use.

Thank you for purchasing Andis.
