As Nikon quit selling parts over a year ago, if Nikon does not repair these any more, try one of their ASC repair stations as they may still have parts

You can generally download PDF versions of Nikon operation manuals for free from NIKONUSA.com. Look for your model from the list in Service and Support.

try and find a copy of the Jan/Feb 1993 SPT Journal (try Ebay) which covers this repair, or look for a copy of the Nikon repair manual. If you are not good at small item repair and soldering take it to a professional. Also use a anti-static work mat and wrist strap.

It would be a very small amount. Ohms equals resistance to current passage. What you are looking for in the switch is continuity between certain terminals when switch is moved through all positions. Sorry I don't have the necessary diagram. Check a repair manual for your toyota. There are only 4 positions: off, on or run, accessories, and start. You have a hot wire coming into the switch, and routed out another way by the switch's position, now the run position would have to connect with both run and accessories-...I know I'd have to have a diagram, too many fuzz balls in my head!

I got a download of the service manual.and discovered a small slide switch,by the manual shutter knob.







I turned it to the right and now the display lights up fully.
