Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD HP Pavilion G72b66US Notebook
Every time I go to do a video call on Skype with my friends, my friends say that they can never hear me. How can I solve this problem?
Look at the speaker icon, on the taskbar, down by the clock.
Note if you have no speaker icon here right click on a blank section of the taskbar and select "properties" now select "customize" and add the 'volume' option. Select 'show icon and notifications'
Return to taskbar
If the speaker icon has a red circle with a red diagonal next to it, the mic is muted. To clear this: left click on the icon to open volume control and left click the icon. At the same time check that the volume is not turned down. Increase the volume by moving the slider up with your cursor.
Return to the taskbar
Right click on the speaker icon and select "recording devices"
Check that the correct microphone is set as default and the sound rises up and down on the graph as you talk. Now move to Skype
Make sure you have the latest version
Sign in > Help > Check Updates
Click > Tools > Options > Audio settings
Make sure the correct mic is displayed as default - all available options can be seen by using the drop-box arrow at the end of 'Microphone'
Test the volume by speaking and the green tracer should be mimicking the volume
I have the box checked for automatic adjustment
Click > Save and exit

Have you tested your microphone in Sounds under the Control Panel?
