I had the same issue, but apparently...it's not an issue. What I discovered is that the system was fine, but the station I was watching didn't broadcast in 5.1 surround sound. Therefore, only the front speakers will have sound. Try putting a dvd in, or listening to a gameing system through it. If you don't have sound after listening to something that puts out full surround sound, then you know you have an issue.

Try to reset the network settings ..
Select [Connection Setting] option in the [Setup] menu then press ENTER
The [Connection Setting] menu appear on the screen. Use up/down arrows to select [Wireless] and
Selects [Yes] and press ENTER (to continue. The new connection setting
resets the current network settings.
Reconnect the wireless receiver ..
Turn on the main unit and turn off the wireless receiver.Press and hold x (STOP) on the front of unit
and MUTE on the remote control. "REMATE" appears in display window.Turn on the Wireless Receiver

I also have the lg lhb975 home theater i went through everything sugested by other people and web sites. i talked to an electronics expert that is a friend of mine, and we both went through all the steps again. just to make sure i did not miss any steps. the solution that we came up with is that the wireless card inside the main unit is defective, and that it should be sent back for repairs if under warrenty. if it is out of warrenty it should be taken to a repair shop. to have the card replaced and reset.

I am having the same problem with my LGHB905TAW. Called local support without any feedback... I think this is the bug in design phase.. Search around the internet but without any positive result...
