SOURCE: blower wont run at full throttle

Start with the spark plug it is the easiest.

But sounds like the carbourator is dirty, Probably fouled with old gas varnish. When it is idling give it a little throttle, flip the choke on and then full throttle. If it goes full throttle and doesn't conk out, it is a fuel issue.

Good Luck

SOURCE: starts on choke but dies when moved off choke

If it will start on choke and die when choke is taken off...the carb needs to be taken off and cleaned. The main jet in the carb is probably clogged.

SOURCE: Throttle switch moving

Engine hunting and surging at idle is usually caused by a fuel delivery, air leak, or governor system problem. Cleaning/overhauling the carburetor, adjustment of the governor, and/or changing the air filer may be required.

SOURCE: peugeot jet force 50 engine cuts out on overrun

when the engine dies pull out the spark plug and earth the plug on the metal part and turn it over dont hold the spark plug as you will get a shock if the plug sparks you know the ignition system is working.if you have no spark do a compresion test to see if there is a problem with the engine.if that ok you will have a fuel problem make sure the breather on the fuel tank isn blocked or trapped.

Governor requires pushing forward to start. Requires two people to start

governors always stop in the full throttle position
when the engine starts the governor action is to move to the idle position against spring tension
the higher tension the higher the rpms
moving the throttle lever increases the spring tension on the governor lever an so the rpms increase
from what you say there is something wrong with the governor/ spring set up
from your photo the system may be reversed and the spring pulls to idle in which case the throttle will decrease the spring tension for higher rpm
which ever way check where the spring is located

Bought a Lionel blue comet, Have legacy, put engine in program mode but engine will not accept engine I'd, what is wrong

You may need to have a chip upgrade done to your Legacy controler, especially if it is one of the earlier ones. Go to Lionel.com for instructions on how to determine if you need the upgrade. If this problem was identified for the Blue Comet then you should be able to find the solution listed on the Lionel site. If all else fails, e-mail them a description of the problem. Lionel provides great customer service.

How do I clean the tracks & wheels to stop the short circuit?

Have you let the loco charge first? The instructions are a bit vague but the loco needs to charge before it runs. Not easily understood from the instructions and many have spent some frustrating minutes wondering why their train wouldn't move.

Stihl FS200 repair manual

I just saw this deal on the Fs200 Stihl Brushcutter. Equipped with a Zama c1qs51 carb. Junk the carb. Go to a stihl dealer and buy a three screw chainsaw type carb with a high low and idle screw. The c1qs51 is junk. The three school carb will put an end to your worries. Of course change your fuel filter naturally. I guarantee this will fix the thing. I own an Fs200 and Fs250.

Legacy w/ flyer, using a capasitor between both tracks.can you do this twice on the layout?

Yes you can, three or four times before you would need to alter the value of the capacitors to allow for the parallel effect electrically.

Need instruction on how to adjust carberator

Adjusting carbs on chainsaws is not to be taken on lightly, there will normally be three screws, an L screw, an H screw, and an idle scre, the L screw will increase the fuel mixture from idle to half throttle ( they are fuel screws not air screws ) the H screw will adjust from half throttle to maximum revs, start with a base setting of between one turn and one and a half turns out, start the saw and warm through, allow it to idle, if need be increase the idle screw to get an idle, turn the L screw in slowley, the revs will increase as the mixture leans off, it will reach a point where it starts to die, now back it off a quarter of a turn, blip the throttle, the saw should pick up clean, if it has a flat spot increase the L screw slightley, now set the idle so it idles without the chain moving on the bar, now screw the H screw in to get full revs, be aware this should be set with an engine rev counter, do not exceed the manufacturersmax revs, hobby saws normally run at about 12500 rpm with an idle speed of 3000 rpm.

I have a new legacy 990 which does not seem to communicate with the engines. How can this be reparied?

easy. if the train switches are not set up correctly, they will cause problems. if the train comes on, but does not move, switch to cab-1 and set which engine you want. if it does not move, but the rpm goes up and down with the dial, CHECK THE BRAKE! if none turn on, check the voltage in the transformer, grey box, and track. if none of these help, please contact me. Hope it helps!

It sounds as though you may have two defective transformers. Lionel has reported problems with some of their smaller transformers. I would have the transformers and the engines checked by a Lionel service station or contact their customer service department for help.

Have you changed transformers? You can also make a Lionel run in opposite direction by using the throttle control...just go to stop and then to power and then back to no stop and right to power. That often works.
