Question about Neff Ovens
I have an older version of the Indesit VRM640MIX Ceramic Hob (Looks the same, about 5 years old but can't get to see model number) and two days ago while using three of the rings the power light and residual heat indicators went out but the two high power rings are still working, only the two lower power rings don't work, any idea what part could of failed within the hob, when it cools down it works again for a couple of minutes. Thanks

Your heater is probably equipped with a bimetal thermal switch to prevent overheating and, if it is like most made in China now, it is defective or at least highly inaccurate.
If you can locate the device, using a metal shield to divert some of the heat will help it serve its original function as a safety.
Look for a thick (4-5 mm), button-like device with two terminals and a diameter of 1.5-2.0 cm.
This point of failure is shared with a majority of drip coffee makers that fail way too early.

Many thing can do this but, common things are....loose high voltage wire.....poor solder joint on board.....magnetron.....power relay.....
This most commonly is a bad door switch, other possible problems are a faulty relay or solder joint on the power module, but a bad door switch is most common.

There are possibly a number of options. It could be that in wiring the hob in you have disturbed the wiring for the oven. Normally the oven works off the main oven control switch on the panel and the hob could be wired into something else.
Is the oven totally dead no power at all for everything, or is the clock running but the oven will not switch on?
