The feet may have popped off the bottom, where the vents are located. Either replace the small feet (they just stick on) or set the laptop on a cooling stand so that the bottom is exposed to the air. You may also want to clean the vents.

Hold down the Ctrl key and the Alt key then press the Del key. This will then bring up the Task Manager. Then click on Shut Down then click Turn Off.
This will then shut down your laptop properly.

The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.

please check in bios the CPU temperature if its 36 degree its fine else remove cabin and clean the fan with brush or use blower to clean

Sudden shut down

Usually the notebooks shut down when increase the temperature of cpu. For thst reason we must open and clean the heating sink and apply new thermal paste on cpu and graphics card gpu chip every 2 with 3 years.

Shut down windows

Try holding the shift key down while selecting restart, then select "Turn off your PC."

Then power it back on normally. Startup will likely be a little longer than normal.

(The default "Shutdown" option in Windows 8 actually just hibernates your laptop.)

Hp probook 4520s overheating

Get a can of compressed air and clean out all the vents and fans. You can also use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean it.

I have now Win XP (SP2) on my HP ProBook 6555b. It dont wona shut down!
