DSC-W100 "Shaky Hand" icon and taking infrequent pictures

Hello my camera which I adore has become irratic lately, when I am review pictures it will all of a sudden switch back to camera mode but most disturbingly as of last night it really won't take pictures. In 'P' mode it shows a shaky hand icon and refuses to take a picture for at least 15 secs if at all. In all other modes it isn't taking pictures at all. I've "restarted" it several times, Im afraid the warrenty might be out so taking it to Sony might suck. Any help appreciated. S

Re: DSC-W100 "Shaky Hand" icon and taking infrequent...

You restarted it by turning it off and on again?

Try re-initializing your camera. Menu --> Setup 1 --> Initialize "OK"

I hope that helps.

As for switching back to camera mode, that could be your selector switch. Mine is weird to, it takes pics fine but the selector switch is touchy and thinks i'm turning it when I'm not. It does this most often in Auto mode, probably because I use it most. You might try putting it in another mode before reviewing pics.

Sony cyber-shot dsc-w200 taking blurry pictures in auto mode...

Its due to slow shutter speed setting.
If you want to take moving object picture, set high speed shutter, there would an icon of golf stick that is for moving object pictures.

I found a solution that worked for me further on in this site. The person said to reset the camera. On my Sony DSC-W100, I opened the battery/memory slot door and to the left of the memory slot there's a tiny gray dot that I pressed and the problem has gone away.

Sony DSC-W100

This address has the LCD screen for W100 for 49.99 plus 7.99 shipping. I had the same problem with my w100. Just remove the screws that hold the back on. Gently take out the LCD screen and follow the connection to where it connects. Gently pop open the connector clamp, its hinged on the far side. remove the old replace the new snap connector clamp back down. Check that it works then put back and screws back on.

it can be possible to select reset icon by selecting menu option.
it is not possible to take this type of pictures because at auto flash mode the subject can't be covered witin flash range .therefore picture may underexposed however the forground within flash range may correctly exposed. If we do all this at flash off mode the motion of subject will appear  as blurred due to slow shutter speed.
