Acer Aspire M5630 Series Original Desktop Motherboard Eg31m reboots

Hello, I have for a customer a Acer with this motherboard: Acer Aspire M5630 Series Original Desktop Motherboard Eg31m. It reboots every time without warning and then restarts again. I can't go into Safe Mode because that does the same. I have reset the BIOS and this had no result. When I have the BIOS screen it will stay there and will not reboot and also after a few reboots the fan on the processor will rotate like crazy and then you have to switch it off. Thank you!

Thank you all for the answers. So far still it doesn't work. Let me sum up:

    1. I don't get the chance to update the BIOS because he will shut down before I can do it.

    2. I don't have eLock2FSCTLDriver.sys installed because it is a clean installation without the Acer software.

    3. Your links don't work (anymore). I think it would be nice to try though...

    4. This is a new motherboard because the old burned litterly.

So if there more suggestions then you are very welcome.

    Regards,

    Roland

I hvae taken out the Video Card that came with the Acer and now at least it is booting normally. The only problem that I have now is that when I want to install Windows it shuts down just like that and then the Windows installation gives the error that it can't finish the installation.

SOURCE: system keeps rebooting when it gets to the desktop

The problem is actually with eLock2FSCTLDriver.sys. So if the eLock program is uninstalled in safe mode, as it is crashing out the network initialisation, then the system will reboot as normal. It has no interaction with the AVG program, and this is official from AVG, and is a problem between Acer eLock and MS updates. Jon.

SOURCE: I've update my bios by flashing it and during the

Hello ,

Use this link http://files.getdropbox.com/u/747181/FLASHCD%20ACER%20T180%20R01-B4.ISO

Thats a bootable cd image that i made containing the latest bios for your board (R01-B4) and a flash utility. This bios has been modified to include overclocking options and extra features which are not in the standard bios!

Burn this image to a cd and boot into the DOS Prompt. At the prompt type the following

awdflash.exe 61AO427.bin /py /sn /cc /r

wait for it to finish reflashing the bios , then eject the disc and restart.

How to reset acer aspire laptop

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.

Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.

Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load.

Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted.

Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

IF the machine is just shutting down it's likely the power supply. If it's constantlly rebooting itself, it's a corrupt bootlog. If the machine is just "freezing" when it tries to boot, it's likely motherboard related.

Hi, I own an Acer Aspire M5630 Standard desktop

Hi,
A branded computer uses Original Equpment Manufacturer (OEM) version of Operating System, hence if you change any hardware it will go to the trial version of OS automatically. Hence, you have to use the full system recovery disk to reinstall the OS.

Loss of graphics - Acer Aspire 3600

Hey there besafe, the problem of your video driver is easily solved. If your computer is new, then you may have the driver CD for the motherboard installation. Alternately you can download the driver from the motherboard manufacturers website, assuming the video is onboard. If it is an installed video card, and you are without the driver disk, you can usually get the specific driver from the manufacturers of the video card website, specific to your OS. These drivers are easy to install therefore the best first step. If that does not work, then look at the hardware. If you have a video card installed, reboot your computer and enable the onboard video. If this works, then your video card may need replacing, preferrably with something having a higher built in memory and more suited to your usage. Hope it helps. Good Luck!
