Question about Apple Black Iphone Model A1241 8gb
I bought an iphone Model #A1241 - 8GB to give my 12 yr old for Christmas to use as an ipod. (she wants ipod tought and i cannot afford one so was told this would work just the same) BUT, my problem is, it has NO SIM CARD. Which I was told it did NOT need a SIM card that if I have WIFI at my home (which I do) then this phone without a SIM card would work perfectly fine. I bought from family member in LA while there last week on a visit and I live 3 states away in AL. So, I am DESPERATE!!! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!
You need a SIM card to activate the phone - you can even get a used/deactivated SIM.

Hi, yes the phone will work.
When you first turn on the Iphone you will get a pop up saying (No SIM Card Installed) thats ok, just slid to unlock and input password if its locked.
Any other pop up that you get is fine, you could see something like (can not verify user) one time only or something like that, just click ok and continue.
You'll have to go into settings and add your password for your WIFI after that you should be ready to use the phone as normal. You will not have a active phone line. All other features while connected to your WIFI will work, it would be a good idea to sync the phone with your Itunes account, set it up as a new phone, add whatever you want. ie songs, video's and your done. No sim card needed for the syncing of Itunes.
I hope this has helped, respond here if you need more help.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Turn off the iPhone before inserting the sim, insert sim, turn on, import contacts. If you put the sim in the phone without restarting it for some reason it doesn't get all the contacts sometimes.

the new sim card is connected with having an iphone account. when you say it is officially unlocked.
does this mean that AT&T unlocked your phone?
what i think your saying is that if you have 2 sim cards, one that is in use and the other is a spare you cannot use both. at the same time.
the sims are standalone, to use a spare sim it has to be activated by the carrier, thus disabling your original sim.
when you change sims you will need to reboot the phone that will not change.
