Question about General Electric Adora GHDA670N Built-in Dishwasher
I can't get the dishwasher to start or to be able to change settings on the dishwasher
According to the GE repairman who visited, the solution is to close the machine (with the lights flashing). The machine starts and goes through the cycles, which it does rapidly and then all the lights turn off and the machine becomes silent after 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. Then the machine has been reset to normal. During this reseting period nothing happens inside the machine, although you may hear a running sound.
Thus, the solution is to run the machine in this flashing light state for the 1-2 minutes it takes to go raipdly through each cycle and then reset.
I hope this helps.

If you can use the internet; then search for GE appliances and look up the manual using the model number. I did; the the two options are to turn off the power and restart it. Their real solution was that someone may have lock the appliance by pushing and holding down on the dry botton for three seconds. If all or some of the lights are on, you can touch the dry botton for three seconds and the controls will unlock. It worked for me. I thought my unit was not balanced or the controls were broken/stuck, but it was only locked.

Ok guys, I just had this gigantic piece of **** malfunction on me, exhibiting the same behavior as described - buttons doing nothing.
I looked online and apparently you have to hold the "time delay" button, and the "light wash" button at the SAME time for THREE seconds. You really have to push those suckers in hard, thanks to GE's awesome design on this panel.
After I did that I slammed my fists against the panel pretty hard about 8 times in a fit of rage. Magically the damn thing beeped and I was able to configure my wash (Pots and pans, heated dry, blah).
Whew! Sadly I rent my house, so I stuck with this abomination.

I tried the same solution as DYONS above (solution #1)... which is to leave the machine cycle for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. It did (will) reset itself. Thanks DYONS for your post. My problem was resolved.

When mine beeps and random LEDs come on and won't start I throw the breaker for 5 seconds and then it is fine.

This appliance is a total piece of sh*t. We have tried everything listed above and nothing. I made the mistake of opening the dw mid-cycle to remove something I needed and couldn't wait for, the latch will not make contact to resume the cycle even though the Pots & Pans and the Hot Dry buttons remain lit. It beeps every 10 seconds or so. We had to turn of the breaker switch to get it to stop beeping. Turning the switch back on does not reset this piece of ****.

I took apart the white piece to the back of the door, took apart the connections to the display and put them back together, put the white piece back on and it worked, hitting the door was not the answer because one of the clips broke so i just used electrical tape to secure it but it seems to be working fine now

I tried everything listed above: turning the breakers off, holding the buttons down, opening and shutting, everything.
In my frustration I banged my fist on the top of the door while it was open and then shut it. Magically it started cycling.
When in doubt... violence.

The average life of dishwashers is 7-10 ten years so it might just be dying but try this. If the leak is a small one that seems to always be near the left side of the dishwasher put a cup of white vinager in the upper rack and run the unit on pots & pans or heavy duty. This is caused by a build up of detergent that make the unit oversuds, when the suds turn back into water it leaks out the left front corner. The amount of water is not huge, one towel to clean up. If the leak is larger it could be the pump is leaking and you can order a new one with your model # from marcone.com
