Question about Car Audio & Video
Time counter works and cd changes tracks fine, but no audio even with volume turned up flat out. Switch unit to radio and audio works fine.
Try cleaning the CD player with a cleaning disc, that is the best way to troubleshoot this at a less costly price tag.

The same thing happened to my radio in my 1993 Chevy S10, but I was shopping for a new radio anyways. When I got them all switched over I took a closer look at the old stereo, and it WAS the stereo that was bad. If you unplug everything from the back of the stereo, check for any coloring other than silver on all of the plug ins. Mine just kinda "fried" as I was listening to the radio. The jack to plug the antenna in and the spots for a few of the other cables were all blackish and if I played my radio for a few minutes, they were incredibly hot. Way too hot to touch. But I bought a new radio and everything seems to be fine now.
