Try this... Open Command Prompt (MS Dos) and use the following commands, one by one...

o 70 2E (first character is letter o, not the number)
o 71 FF

Then restart the system

  • 2 Press and hold down the "F1" key. Turn the computer on.
  • 3 Release the "F1" key when the BIOS screen appears.
  • 4 Type the current BIOS password into the password field.
  • 5 Click the "Password" button. Select the "Supervisor" icon.
  • 6 Type the current BIOS password into its field. Press the spacebar.
  • 7 Press "Enter" on the blank password box. Press "Enter" on the verification screen. The BIOS password is removed.
  • 8 Click the "Save and Exit" icon.

    Bios password ican not to remove it and if i remove the battay of bios ican,t remove it either

    1) Open up case of desktop
    2) Locate BIOS Battery
    3) Locate Jumper Switch near BIOS Battery
    4) Reposition Switch setting from 011 to 110
    5)Reset Computer
    6)Reposition Switch from 110 to 011

    This procedure resets the Basic Input Output System without having to remove the BIOS Battery. It should solve your problem.

    Are they password protected networks you are trying to connect to? If security is set on these networks, you will have to be granted access to them by their owners.

    My lenovo sl400 have error 8600 CMOS Date/Time Not set and im in bios set up if i have to enter system date its said that "View Only Item" what can i do to fix this problem. Can anyone help me

    I have the same problem with the same model. I flashed the BIOS, which fixed it for a couple hours. Then, I replaced the CMOS battery, which fixed it for a day. Then, I replaced the system board, which fixed it for 2 days. Now, the problem has returned. I'm stumped.

    I had installed a BIOS password in my laptop.

    There is no way NOT TO accept the password , if there is no wrong.(Pswrd might b Wrong) > Check CAPS lock is on >check password typed accuratelyThen you have to reset your BIOS memory.. After Reset your Bios will be its previous Condition...
    Now you are ready to open your PC

    if you are a active hardware then you install windows
    restarst your computer
    press F2 then go to bios utility
    choice boot device Example Cd/DVD Room
    press F10 press Y
    Then computer restart then boot from cd room press enter
