Question about Leica LRF 900 scan Rangefinder

Open Question

Leica 900 Rangefinder won't read long distance

Rnagefinder will read distances too 300 yards+ or- but will not read anything beyond that. In scan mode or regular it is the same result.

SOURCE: My Leica LRF 900 scan

I couldn't find anybody on the net that ever reported this problem, or solved it, so it's most likely the unit has to be factory serviced.
Here's what another tech on FixYa suggests, and it may be your only recourse, short of just taking it apart and trying to clean and retighten connectors:

Good luck :-)
This could be a major repair, so get an estimate first. Ebay sometimes has pretty good deals on these. Good luck, and hope this helps.

What are the marks below the crosshairs

They are used to indicate elevation needed to hit your target at various ranges. The distances should be indicated in your owner's manual. For instance, if calibrated for .223 remington, and sighted in at 100 yards, the first might be 200 yards, the 2nd 300 yards, etc.

Rolling distances on rangefinder.

Unless that device has a laser in it, rolling distance calculaters are hard to come by because they are not cheap.

I have the Leica CFR 1200 Rangefinder. Does this readout in Yards or Meters and can it be changed?

There are two different sub-models of the CRF 1200. The 527 reads in meters while the 523 reads in yards. This is not something that can be changed by the user.

I have no manual, how do I get the distance number to appear?

You can download a manual at http://distagage.com/downloads.html

but simply, to get the distance to appear, turn on the unit with the large red ON/DIST button, aim the red laser dot at your desired target, and press the ON/DIST button again. The distance will appear on the display screen.

I have a Nikon rangefinder 350G. I bought it last year. I find the reading is getting less sensitive comparing when it was brand new. It is hard to get reading when it is as far as 120 yards and more....

Push mode and power button together and hold down for 30 seconds to reset before you send it in for alignment repair. The reset might work and save you $$$.

I have a pair of leica binoculars model 102351 which has vitical and hrizontal markings in the lens, I presume it has something to do with a range finder but I have no idea how it works. I would appreciate...

You are correct that the lines are for rangefinding. This is what is called a reticle. Without seeing how they are set up it is hard to determine the scale used. Most scales are in meters, some in yards, but they all work the same. Go to any of the following websites and download the instruction manual.
Go to Tasco and search for the Offshore OS 36 or 54 manual. OR go to Steiner Optic and download the manual for the Military 7x50 or Commander or Navigator models.
These instruction manuals have details and diagrams of how to read a rangefinder reticle.
Basically if you know the distance to an object you can estimate its height or size. OR if you know the size of an object you can estimate the distance to the object.

Incorrect distance or Calabrated wrong

Sounds like the unit is reading in meters instead of yards....Hold down the mode button on the side for about 5 seconds. It should switch modes.
