I have a Dimplex Heater model no DS5629BR Can't get any heat I have unpluged it & and still can't get any heat. Dont see anything in manual about thermostat being bad or changing it all it said w

Have an electrician check it out.
The heating comes from coils of wire which glow red heat. Air from the fan passes over these coils and keep them from burning out.

If the unit has overheated, it is very likely that one of the coils has burned out and there is no electrical circuit, hence no heat.

An electrical repair shop will be able to verify this for you and fit replacement coils.

Where is the Manual Heater Reset Switch on an Amana A/C and Heater Unit Model number PTH093B35AJ? The unit has several stickers that state it has a "Manual Heater Reset Switch".

Almost certainly it is a bad relay on the circuit board. Sometimes you can slap the side of the unit by the control box to temporarily unstick the relay, after which the heat will come on for a cycle or two. There are two relays on the circuit board marked "heater 1" and "heater 2". You can order a new circuit board for about $100 or replace the relays at $4 apiece (order online from Digi-Key, requires solder connections). Part number JTN1a-PA-F-DC5V.

Heat surge amish heater turns off and trips reset button

Do NOT use this unit as is!.
My experience is you have to pay to ship it for repairs and if out of warranty you should buy another heater. All electric heaters use the same power for the same heat unless its a heat pump, so save money and buy $30 WalMart heaters.

I would like to know location of reset button on hot water heater

If you have tank-type electric water heater, ECO reset is located on upper thermostat which is behind panel on side of water heater.
Be sure to put insulation back in place when finished so thermostat not exposed to cool air that will cause temperature misread.

If you have gas water heater, call service technician, and/or read manual.
ECO reset requires gas control valve replacement in many cases.
FV lockout requires replacement parts.
Some tanks have resettable thermal switch located behind gas door panel.

If you have tankless, call service technician, and/or read manual.

I live in a rented home and my heat is not coming up through the registers, could the filters be clogged, we know nothing about heat pumps. Should we check the filter first, before calling our landlord in...

If it is forced air heat then you should change the filters. Also check to make sure the heater is kicking on. The main heat trunk line should feel warm right by the heater.

Check all your manual reset limits. There are two wires that go to a small disk about the size of a penny. In between those wires is a small button. Press the button firmly. You will have between 2 to 5 of these. There is also a limit switch located on the back wall of the unit that enters in the heat exchanger but it is not resetable that could be bad. You will need to check all of these. They can be jumped temporarily by removing the wires and adding a small wire.
