My freecom external hard drive worked fined until about 2 months ago when it is not being recognised by my PC, therefore I cannot access the hard drive to retrieve any information.
There is power going to the unit but I can hear a sound like something is sticking inside the hard drive.
My legacy is stored on this hard drive is it will be a tremendous loss to me if I can't retrieve my data from the HD.

I have an Iomega Ultra Max Pro 2TB drive set up as RAID 1 and running Time Machine in Snow Leopard. It has worked flawlessly for more than 6 months, but as of 2 days ago it started having problems after the Mac wakes up from standby. An error message pops up saying ''the drive was improperly ejected''. I have to click OK and then it does it again (during this the drive clicks and then spins up and then spins down again). After the second time I click OK, it works again, until the next standby. I wonder if I have to do it twice due to the fact that I have the two drives running in a mirrored fashion. Any help?
