SOURCE: Whining noise in all three speeds.

There is only one bearing in the back a an A200, the rear motor bearing. Page 12 -- Otherwise I'd look for something rubbing the motor. (wire, capacitor shield) The two back side covers are easy to remove, two screws each.

The timer is also in the link. The part is not cheap, but easy to install.

SOURCE: I have a Hobart P660

Hello Pizzaangel,

It sounds like you are having a problem with you Hobart P660, everytime you run it trips the breaker. Sounds like the switch is shorting out. You need to replace the switch and that should solve the problem that you are having.

Hobart P660 keeps shutting off and tripping the breaker

Sounds like the cable is too small. If you're hooking it up to 15 amp breaker you need the correct diameter size extension cord, and the equipment cannot be rated more than 15 amp or you'll have a problem. I perceive this may be the solution based on the fact that you said that the motor was not coming up to speed.

I have a Hobart P660 stand mixer. It turns on for a moment then trips the breaker. Would this be a "relay" or "switch" problem?

Making noise in planetary gear area. we have a l 800 hobart mixer just purchased ,has wirring noise planetary gear area ,i 'm quite sure it is common wear from use , but want to repair...

The noise you are describing sounds like the noise associated with the pinion gear meshing with the ring gear in the planetary. Depending on the age of the unit, some noise is to be expected. The lubricant used in the planetary is different than that of the main transmission and is not visible without disassembly. Again, depending on age of the mixer, your planetary may have a small amount of oil and a pump to bathe the gears or just a generous amount of grease applied to the gears. The only way to properly inspect the planetary is to remove it. Depending on your luck, this may be 20 min job or several hours. It all depends on the ease of which the planetary releases from the main center shaft. Should you decide to tackle this job yourself let me know and we'll do our best to assist you. Several knowlegeable techs monitor this area of the site.

You may have a wire not fully seated in your plug, or the worm gear you've just replaced is bound by something ( a gear tooth?) or wrong worm gear. Check to see if all the gears are seated properly. You should be able to turn the agitator by hand. If not, something is jammed in the gears. The other possibility is the windings in the armature are bad.
