I have had this happen twice now. It's a great unit but after the second one I got did the same thing I think I'll avoid a third. Only solution is to get Motorola to repair or replace it, but good luck on getting that to happen.

I just encountered the same exact problem. The LED light stays on, no matter what, it's not in pairing mode, it then runs its battery down and dies, and cannot be used at all.

This thing is going in the garbage. What a waste of money. Motorola prides itself on quality, but should be ashamed of themselves for this (oh - and has anyone had as much fun with the charger for this thing??)

My droid 2 is not recognizing the motorola hs820 bluetooth device; I have no info on how to set the hs820 to pair

I think I can help here:
Make sure your headset and phone are charged before doing anything else. The blue light on your headset will come on when it is charging, and will shut off when fully charged.
To put your headset in pairing mode, make sure it is completely off first (no blinking blue light). Then hold down the Call button for 6-10 seconds until the blue light stays on. (It will likely flash once and shut off, but keep holding until it is all the way on and stays there!)
From there, go into the settings on your Droid 2 and access the bluetooth connections. Do a new scan for your headset if you don't see it listed, pair, and connect!

After charging my HS820, the light stays on, no matter what I do, and it is supposed to be in sync mode, but it won't sync with my Samsung, but my other Motorola headsets do!

You need to disconnect it from the charger and keep the button pressed to put it in pairing mode, then associate with the phone with the PIN 0000.

Motorola hs820

you have to press and hold the button for a few seconds, it will then flash 3 times and then stay solid blue, this is now in pairing mode, get your phone to find the headset and then pair usually with the numbers 0000, then thelight will flash then it is paired.

My Phone Does Not Locate My HS820 Headset

Try the following:
1) Make sure the HS820 is fully charged up.
2) Remove the battery and SIM card from your phone for about 1 minute and put them back in.
3) As soon as your phone is booted up, access the "find devices" function for adding your HS820.
4) Hold the HS820 button down until the blue light is solid.
5) Then do whatever your phone requres to "search for devices."
6) Here's the key: as the phone is searching for devices, PHYSICALLY TOUCH touch the HS820 to the phone.

I couldn't get my HS820 to synch with my new Blackberry Curve the normal way and ultimately got it to synch by going through this process.
