I receive an error F4 on my scanner when I turn it on. Will not scan. Any suggestions?

Hello Larry,

The F-4 error in Fujitsu fi-6240 scanner indicates Background change over unit malfunction alarm. It may be caused by the malfunction of background motor or optical unit or damaged optical cable.

You are recommended to contact the nearest Fujitsu scanner service center for rectification.

Thanks & regards,

Fujitsu Fi-6670. I have a little (microscopic) piece of paper stuck under the lower screen, so when scanning it appears a blu line over the whole page. How can i get it out? Thanks

Hello Alex,

You need to open the scanner and de-assemble some parts to remove the piece of paper which involves technical expertise. I would recommend to contact a Fujitsu scanner technician or call your nearest service center for assistance.

Thanks & regards,

Hello Adil,

Does your scanner display H0/H8 alarm?
Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner?

Does any foreign object get inside the Control PCA? Check the control PCA.
Are the cables between Control PCA and the motor damaged? Or are the
connectors connected correctly? Check throughly.

If the issue is not resolved, then you may have to replace the Control PCA as the motor fuse is located in the control PCA unit. For replacement you are recommended to contact Fujitsu scanner expert.

Need to no how to find Type 1 error for statistics on TI 83 plus

Carry out the test. The calculator will display a p= value (or if you draw it - it will be the shaded area). This is the type one error. Why? Well if H0 is true then your t-test will come from this distribution. Think of the bell shape as a histogram - you have one value you are comparing to it. Is this value typical of this "histogram"? If the value is near the centre of the bell it is reasonable that it came from it. If it is in the extreme it probably didn't and so we reject H0. The type one error is the probability that we reject H0 given that it is true. H0 assumes the t value comes from this distribution - so it is the probability of getting this value or something more extreme. (i.e. the shaded area. Incidently this is the same way of finding the type one error for any test.
