Question about Televison & Video
Hello I have a 42 inch Sylvania tv model # LC42oSS8 that can take up to 15 minutes for an image to display after powering up. The picture quality is great and no other issues. any advice on what part to change? Many thanks Rob
Make sure you are on the right input, make sure video signal is up and running, So if you are pumping a MAC TV or PS3 into it make sure they are up and running and input on TV is set to HDMI or DVI-I or what you need. On newer TV's some have a sensing feature that searches for a correct input and the HZ you have it set for. If you are in the USA 59-60hz will do it. Europe uses 50hz. Just check with only one device hooked up and go from there. 15 Minutes is way too long.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hi it sounds like it has had an elctric fault like a resistor failing.
The click you heard would be a internal switch that cuts off the elctric supply to the screen to stop furthe damage hapening.
It could even be something simple like a bad solder and in that case will need locating and resoldering.
How old is the telly and how often is it used.
When you switch it off leave it off for about an hour then try again if you have allready done this then it probably is a blown resistor are you sure nothing has been pressed on controll have you tried seeing if you can acess the menu screen via the remote and see if that comes up on the screen let me know ok

Versed, you have to open the back panel (cover) to access the lamp. replacing is easy as soon as you can see it. loosen the mounting bolt and pull to unplug the lamp from the SMPS Lamp power supply. Thats it.

First you should check the fuse and the wiring in your tv by removing the back cover. Make sure no wires are bare or touching. If there are any, wrap them with electrical tape.
If you cannot see anything wrong by looking, then it is probably the set has a bad transformer (high voltage)

Another "same probelm"
My set has encountered this magical 50/50 split screen and it seems to be quite a problem since I am not the only one researching this issue. LG was of no use because of course it is just out of warranty. Any solutions on fixing this or am I out of money in buying a new plasma?
