Cable or hydraulic? pls give as much as you can on info of your car. if it uses cable then its probably broken replace cable, if its hydraulic check fluid level or leaks on the line, fix leak, bleed line to purge air.

I have Peugeot expert 2014 20hdi and the clutch pedal is getting harder to change the gears. please can you find the solution for the clutch soft ?

When the pedal gets hard to push it means the clutch disk is worn out (the worn disk changes the mechanical advantage), this means of course you need the clutch replaced.

Manual. Clutch pedal very soft. Sometimes pedal stays down. Unable to change gears until engine stalls or is turned off. Worse in very cold weather. Fluid level OK.

the master cylinder that operates both the clutch and brakes is either bad or needs bled,or could be leak in either brakes or clutch slave cylinder

I have a problem with corsa 2005 cdti sedan, clutch pedal is soft right down, cant even shift gears, without notice

Hi, it looks like your master cylinder is not working but it could also be the smaller clutch slave cylinder that has a leak . When you don't have any pressure it usually points to air getting into the clutch hydraulic pipes and it could be the seals in the slave cylinder that need renewing. The system would have to be bled when the repair has been done. Air in the system causes a spongy feeling and not much resistance when pressing the pedal hence you can't get the clutch to work to put the car into gear.

Clutch pedal is soft and have to pump pedal for gear change

I see someone has already mentioned the Master Cylinder but you should also check the slave cylinder for leakage. They are usually mounted lower and are more prone to contamination.

Theres a problem changing gears, its a soft very low biting clutch peddle, unable to change down from high ratio gears to low ratio gears, having to knock into nuetral pump the clutch to select gears...

This sounds like you may have a leak in the hydrulics of the clutch, the clutch slave is not disengaging the clutch all the way, this is the reason for the low bite pedal and hard to get gears, the most common problem is the fluid is low due to a leaking slave cylinder, i would look around the clutch components for a leak, hope this helps.

Clutch not letting engagement of gears, clutch pedal is soft.

hi first thing to try is to adjust the clutch pedal cable up that is done at the gearbox side by adjusting the 10mm nut on the end of the cable, if after you have done this you can then select gears you will most probably need to replace clutch due to wear.if you cant select any gears even after adjusting the cable then it sound like you have a problem with the selector rod a common fault is for the bushes to wear and knock the selector out of line, check for excessive play in selector rod rubber bush.

I have a 89 toyota pickup 4 speed. When I'm stopped at a stop light, and let out on the clutch it seems like it has lost pressure. When I'm shifting down the road it shifts fine. I checked the fluid and it...

this sounds like the clutch slave is goin out, this unit is on the outside of the transmission. Possibly losing pressure!! Your transmission does not use transmission fluid, but instead gear oil. Have the following checked:
1. Clutch Slave (possibly worn)-this will cause soft or hard clutch pedal feel, slipping clutch, unintended clutch release, hard gear engagement, no/insufficient clutch movement.

*2. Clutch pedal Mounting Plate (possibly cracked)-this will cause improper gear engagement, hard gear engagement, soft pedal feel, insufficient clutch movement.

*this plate is located above the clutch pedal itself, apply pressure on the pedal with one hand while inspecting the plate for fatigue cracks(use a bright flashlight). This is very common on these models. This problem will eventually get worst and most mechanics never figure this out.
