You can go into the properties of the microphone and disable or fine tune to eliminate the feedback. If all else fails reinstall the driver.
Good first step.
See below: Windows 7 and eirlier

The information below is designed to help solve your microphone not working properly. This does not cover problems related to specific programs or third-party microphone hardware and software.

If your laptop microphone is not working properly, ensure it is not disabled:

  1. Open the Start Menu and type "Sound" in the search field.
  2. Select "Sound" from the results.
  3. Select the RECORDING tab and select the desired microphone. Default microphone is Realtek High Definition Audio.
  4. Click "Properties" to view and modify settings.
Reloading the sound driver may resolve this issue.
  1. Open the Start Menu and type "Device Manager" in the search field. Select "Device Manager" from the results.
  2. Locate and select "Sound, Video and Game Controllers."
  3. Identify the sound devices.
  4. Right-click on each one and select "Uninstall".
  5. Reboot the computer.
  6. Your drivers will automatically install. Third-party drivers may need to be reinstalled manually.

How do I switch off the microphone to stop the speakers feeding back on my laptop. And how to set the levels when I am recording, to stop feedback.

I think it won't be possible to get rid of the feedback and quality will be poor when recording this way. Try software like Audacity and set the audio source to record directly from the sound card. The input device should be set to "Windows WASAPI" for Windows and output set to a loopback device.

Latency and reverb

Is the reverb caused by picking up the speaker output? You can't have a monitoring speaker feeding back into the microphone.

Get a lot of poping and feed back

Hi, in other not to get feed back, make sure that the monitor speakers are a way from the mic.

Also it depends on the processors your using,Feed Back destroyer, compressor, etc.

That will determine the cause of the feed back.

Notemake sure the positioning ofthe speaker doesn't come to close in contact with themic, cause themic is so sensitive too peak any slight sound around.

Please you can pass your comment and tell me what you have in your setup.

Hope that helps..

MIc. feed back

When ever an Export radio is modified and tuned especially the talk back it will feed back bad!! When you have this tune done to the radio the stock microphone is no longer any good to use and no longer an option!! The radio tech. should have explained this to you!! You will now have to use a very good quality Noise cancelling Microphone for the Connex it is recommended to use an Astatic 636L Microphone. They work real well with the Export radios or if you prefer you can get an Turner RK-56 Microphone but they are alot more expensive and my opinion is the the RK-56 is over rated and they do rob your radio of some audio!! The Astatic 636L gets rid of most feedback problem and make your voice soumd crisp and claer!! If that dont do the trick than you have to take the radio back to the tech that did the work and tell them to install a larger resistance on the talback modification they did!! Audio feedis crossing with my speaker feed with and without the microphone plugged in.

Your mic still picks up sound when it's unplugged ?
As far as the other prob goes that sounds like howl round ( feedback ), mute the mic when not talking through it or get a mic with a cardioid polar response pattern ( just ask for a cardioid mic, can get a hypercardioid or supercardioid too but a cardioid would be best for your application, point the mic right at your speaking position with the back of the mic pointing at the speakers wich ideally should be behind the mic, this will help cancel out their sound, puting a limiter on the mic and setting it where it only starts picking up sound when you talk directly into it will help too, but the sure fire way to solve the prob is to mute the mic when not speaking into it. What you definitely don't want is an omnidirectional mic, for what you are using a mic for.

Head set microphone

Hello there. Depending on the microphone, it might not be worth having it fixed. It would be less eco-friendly, but unless your headset microphone is of high quality, you should not bother fixing it when you can find many for USD 15 anywhere.
