Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa (http://picasa.google.com).

SOURCE: DOWNLOADING PICTURES

Photo transfer problems are as likely to be related to software as to hardware. If you use photo-editing software other than what came with your camera, check the software's documentation and Web site to see if the manufacturer supports your camera. Download and install any software updates, as well.

If your photo-editing software can't detect your camera, make sure your camera is attached, turned on, and, if necessary, switched to transfer mode. Double-click the My Computer icon and look for an icon that corresponds to your camera. If you see an icon for your camera, you know that Windows detects your camera and that the problem is related to your photo-editing software.

SOURCE: pc cant recognize the camera on the USB port

What is the Pc doing that shows you it is not recognizing the camera?
Have you looked in My computer at your drives to see if it is showing there? For some reason mine sometimes shows up my F drive instead of my camera drive. Then you can just click on the drive and open the folder for the photos.

SOURCE: computer won't recognize this camera like it used to so I can't download pics all of the sudden

Hello and welcome to FixYa

Please go to a electronics store and buy a USB card reader. I bought one last week and it cost $0.5 so its cheap as dirt. Then simply remove the card from your camera , pop it into the reader and the pictures will appear on a drive like a flashdrive in your my computer folder.

This is a much better option than using the camera's cable as it is faster , safer , saves on your camera battery and you don't need to install any software or drivers.

The card reader will most likely also still be compatible with any new camera you buy in future.

Once you insert the card into the reader , a storage disk will be created in "my computer". It will look like a flash drive and when you open it , there will be a few folders.

One of these folders will be something like DCMC and inside will be all the pictures on your card. Now just select the pictures you want to copy and copy them to the computer like you would any other file.

Kind Regards
Andrea

I don't have the usb cord that came with the camera, cannot find driver on line and after market cable not recognized, how can I upload to lap top Windows 10?

Contact Fuji customer services for help, advice and possibly the drivers and/or cable that you need. The camera is, however, eleven years old, so they may not have what you require anymore. It takes an xD media card, but you may be able to get a USB card reader that can accommodate that.

My canon eos 50D wont show up on the computer!?

What computer are you using? Some cameras do not plug-and-play. Did the camera come with a CD or DVD? If so, it probably contains drivers that you need to install for the computer to recognize the camera properly. You can also find drivers and firmware updates (for the camera) on Canon's website: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_50d#DriversAndSoftware
You will have to choose your OS and then download the correct firmware update if necessary.

If the camera was previously recognized and is not being recognized any more, there may have been damage to the cable, or to either the computer's USB port or the camera's connection port. Check that nothing is loose and that the cable is not crushed, bent or torn.

Norton has changed your registry...that's why the camera is no longer recognized. Solve your problem the way the pros do....use a card reader.
