How do i use my tv sa a monitur for my pc but has no VGA on the back just a HDMI plug and scart socket.

Chris, what happens when you plug the hdmi connector into the TV and your adapter, while your computer is running and connected to the adapter?
Are there drivers required for the adapter?

As an alternative, you could install a video board in your Dell that includes an HDMI output. I have a laptop with one, and connect it to my TV often; works fine.

How can i add monitor with hdmi cable to an hP all in one computer

Hello Anon,

I believe your P.C. has a DVI socket on the back, if it is a DVI-D, it only carries digital signals. If it is a DVI-I socket, it carries both digital and analogue signals, either way, you need to get a DVI-to-HDMI adaptor, (Ebay or Amazon), connect it to the DVI socket on your P.C. then plug your HDMI lead into it and the monitor.

Ron.

If you have an hdmi output in the back of your tower pc then you can just plug this into your telly to get your pc images on your telly. If you have an older monitor with a different type of connection then you will not be able to connect your pc to your telly.

Hope this helps

Want to install a second monitor

If you have a DVI port at the back of your tower, then you can use a DVI cable - or DVI to VGA adapter - to connect the second monitor.
(I am assuming the monitors have VGA cables)
If your PC has an hdmi output that should work too, but I am assuming the PC is too old for that.
It'll all depend on whether your PC has a video card capable of driving 2 monitors. If it has neither DVI or HDMI then it is probably too old. And probably not worth buying a video card that will support two.

I NEED TO HELP WIRING MY COMPAQ HOME COMPUTER

Set all items up ready to be installed Plug in your mouse and keyboard into the back of the tower. If u are using the old style connectors these have pins and will also be colour coordinated so you know where to plug into tower. They will have a notch inside so plug in carefully so not to break pins. If they are USB connections they will be square at the end and u will see where these plug in at the back of the tower these do not have colour coordination as u can plug in anywhere. Next your VGA cable, this is the cable that looks the same both ends with 15 pins in it. One end goes into your monitor and the other into the back of the tower these are shaped so they only fit in one way, again caution that you do not force in as you could bend the pins. Next ensure u have the power leads into the tower and the monitor, these are the cables with a plug on one end and a female 3 hole socket at the other, u will see where these plug into both devices. Next plug into wall ensuring socket is off first Then switch on Switch on your tower....monitor should come on by itself, if not hit the power button on your monitor Voila ...done

How do i connect PC to tv

To connect the PC to the TV you need a VGA cord. It usually with blue ends and connects the monitor and the tower and in this case the tv and the tower. Your tv needs to have a PC/VGA input. If not you need some special cords. Otherwise you can use a HDMI cord if your PC has a HDMI output.

HOW CAN I HOOK THE Panasonic TH-42PX75U TO THE VGA OUTPUT ON MY COMPUTER?

If your computer has an HDMI socket, all you need is an HDMI cable. If not you need a VGA cable (the blue cable that usually connects a computer to it's monitor. One end goes into the socket on your TV marked VGA or PC. the other end goes into the monitor output on your computer. if you have a laptop, there will be a vga socket (usually blue inlay in the socket) on the side or back. you will then need to set up the second screen in Control panel, display settings. If using the VGA cable, you will need to run an audio cable from the speaker/headphone socket of your computer to your tv (there will be a 3.5mm jack near the VGA socket) or to your audio receiver.
Good luck.

No display, light goes green but on screen says no connection then goes yellow for standby tried both DVI and VGA so now linked my pc to my tele via DVI to HDMI and works fine anyone know what this could...

here is the simple test to detect hardware malfunction.
on every monitor these days whether its CRT or LCD already programmed inside self test.
detach your cable data to CPU and power on your monitor. if its displayed self test on your screen mean its OK and something wrong with your CPU, could be VGA error.

if its just black display mean some is wrong with your monitor.

if you post more detail maybe we in FIXYA could help.
thanks.
