In my acer laptop ; i tried to change my password and in the new password i did not type any password , i.e, i left it blank . and in the confirmation dialog i again left it blank.

Now when laptop starts it asks for password. And i do not type any thing but it says wrong password. i tried to type old password ; but that is also not working.

Try pressing CTRL ALT DELETE twice at the login prompt and when it comes up with a typable login screen try your username there with blank password. If that fails try logging in with Administrator as username and blank password. If it says that the administraotr account is disabled in some way then login as administrator using safe mode with no password (press F8 on startup and select safemode from menu using arrow keys) When you login using administrator goto user accounts in control panel then modify account and remove password.
