Static We just purchased a set of a radios. There is an extreme amount of static on one that will not go away. We aren't near a lot of microwaves or anything, and it appears to be just the one radio. How do we fix this?

Have a tech check out the filters inside the radio and set it up so that they work with each other.

The only way I can receive is to have static all the time, how can I receive and transmit without static

has to do with the electrons in the air waves . Have you noticed that when you are near businesses with flourecent lights you pick up a lot of static? A traffic light may change and the electrical impulses from the change can be heard in your radio. It could also be the vehicle you are driving .Are you using a cigarette lighter plug which will give you static also . Do you have a noise blanker switch on the radio ? if yes make sure it is on and an A N L switch ,make sure it is on .

I have a cobra 29 with echo, tweeked and tune. I can transmit strong and I hear those who speak to me but I dont have any static like you do with a new radio. Is this something I need to worry about as Im...

Make sure the squelch is turned all the way to the left, the RF GAIN is turned all the way to the right. The cobra 29 has a very good noise blanker, Turn the ANL/NB switch to off, You will probably hear a Lot of static, As long as you have a good ground on the radio and antenna, and your SWR is 1.5 or lower, you need not worry about static.

Static only

If you have static, more than likely you dont have the monitor on or plugged in. Also, make sure the the channels are set equally on the monitor and receiver, either on channel 1 or 2.

Try not to place the monitor or receiver near tv's, microwaves, radio's, etc. this may interrupt reception.

Hope this is helpful!

I am positioned on a designated fm station and my sirius radio has allot of static

the problem with the static is that radio station you have it set to is picking up a signal on FM. it could be a dead channel in one location and it could be a live station a town or so away. try another pre set station. i tend to use 89.1 it is a dead channel in many areas around me. it could be a live station near you.

Static on my pair of Uniden cordless phones (Model DECT1560)

Is your base near a computer or other electronics? Also, make sure your microwave is not on. I get static if I do any of those things.

GALAXY 88 HIGHT STATIC IN THE RECEIVE ..

Hi,

If the antenna for the other properly operating radio is used with the radio with the noise and you are getting the static then we can assume it is the radio. If you hear signals with the static, that is, it does receive communications at the same time, there may be a problem with the noise reduction circuitry, or a defective component(s) in the receiver. Without knowing your experience I would suggest taking to a radio shop.

Audio has a lot of static

You can possibly diagnose the problem by trying a different speaker,it does not have to be the same shape as the original but it has to have the same amount of resistance (ohms),radio shack might have one that you can try or one from a broken radio ,if you use one with different value it might not sound as loud but we are trying to see if you hear the static or is gone. You need to unplug the unit from the wall, remove the back cover and locate the speaker, disconect the wires and reconect the one to try then plug the set and turn it on,the antenna will need to be reconected too.Is the most simple test you can do without getting in too deep.Let Us know how it goes by a way of a new question or if you need more information.
