If it is just the sound from the computer then if you have windows look for the little speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, right click this, select "Sounds" then select playback (while connected to the tv) and chose the tv as the output device (set to default).

If on the other hand the issue is with the tv at all times then try going into the menu settings of the tv and looking for the various sound options. Possibly the remote control will have an audio button that scrolls through various audio options (two circles followed by roman numerals?).

Hope this is of some help.

SOURCE: hitachi lcd tv picture but no sound

Is the mute button on?
Depending on your technicla skill, you could open it up and check that the leads are connnected to the internal speakers. They may have come adrift.

SOURCE: tv has sound but picture is black

good day.
The crt circuit of the unit might be loose or the the parts inside the board is loose. Have it hecked by a technician first. Minor parts inside might caused the problem.

Response is highly appreciated.

SOURCE: Blurry Sanyo TV

Well after playing around with the tv some more, I decided the problem was probably the cable jack, and tried running the video in/out cables thru the VCR to get around this, which I read generally works but in this case nothing. I had tried the tv on various settings, anytime I put the tv in "video" mode I'd get a blue screen and nothing else. Anyway I found a switch in the back of the Direct Tv box for ch. 3 & 4 settings. So I flipped it but still got a snowy picture, only this time it was on ch 4 instead of ch 3. By sheer accident I put the tv back in video mode while I had the satilites setting to ch 4, and the picture came up crystal clear. Since I didn't mess with it further, I'm not sure if it was the channel selector or the fact that hooked the tv up via the video cables, but whatever it was it did the trick.

I just KNEW this could not be a broken tv despite the fact that everhwere I read online suggested it was. I knew pictures can go out, or sound can go out....but to have BOTH go out didn't make sense to me. Anyway, glad its working! :)

Sanyo dp55360 sound oscillates through speakers, sound fine through stereo

Check whether the sound is ok on a headphone, if the TV has the socket. If this is not ok, the problem lies in the sound output section. Some capacitors are leaky/dry and/or power supply to that section is irregular. Needs attention by a qualified service technician.

Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 audio not working

I would Google the model number carefully for "problems" "no sound" and usually this set will display some kind of error code===it may even have a hard reset to try===service manuals are available on the net/web to allow you to see how the sound circuit is set up etc.

Im running my audio thru the optical audio to my stereo... but only some channels will come thru... I figured out that only the digital channells will play... is there a way that I can get the analog...

No, the digital coaxial output on the tv will only output when digital sound is being utilised. So that normally is HDMI or if using aerial antenna to receive local ATSC signal.

I want to play normal tv sound thru the surround sound, but do not know what cables to use? i have an LG 460 tv, and a sanyo dc-ht818, it doesnt seem to have TOSLINK or HDMI inputs, so what can i use?

The Sanyo has stereo analog LINE INPUT jacks. Run two RCA audio cables from the TV to these jacks and select this LINE INPUT FUNCTION on the Sanyo. If the TV has no analog audio output jacks you can even use the headphone output by using a 3.5mm adapter to RCA audio connectors.

No 5.1 surround when adding a Philips upconvert player to the San

Sounds like you are getting analog signals from your componet cables and a true digital input from your HDMI into your tv.

However that unit is Analog audio input x 1 only.
So i dont think your going to get true digital surround sound.
The problem being

Sanyo =

Inputs: Analog Audio x 1 Outputs: Composite x 1 · S-Video x 1 · Component x 1 · Digital Audio Coaxial x

Setting up tv sound to come thru stereo speakers

Hi,

Offhand, your Philips 32PFL7422/98 do not have regular Audio Output RCA jacks (white and red), sorry. However, right before the antenna connector is an S/PDIF output connector. This should allow transfer of digital audio signals from the Philips 32PFL7422/98 to a S/PDIF capable receiver or amplifier. If you would look at the rear of your stereo and determine if it has such an input, then it would be a matter of getting the right cable/connector.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

stupid question, but you do have an optical lead connected? the hdmi will only produce stereo sound, you must also have an optical lead (aka tos link cable) connected to produce 5.1
