The screen is about $65 and it takes less than an hour to strip down the screen, remove the old broken screen , fit the new screen and test.
You could do it yourself ... follow the video tips on utube.

if you can get hold of a second Dell Lappy (same model) which is broken (not broken screen) you can swap the broken screen for the good one. It means opening the laptop, but due to the smashed screen the warranty is invalid anyway. There is usually 1 or 2 cables coming from the screen 1 for signal and 1 for power. you can explore the broken lappy to see how the screen connects,

SOURCE: Hp pavilion dv 1000 screen replacment

Dear lotaman, I have searched the world to find an exact guide for your monitor but it is impossible. Neveretheless I have found the following guides and they should be more than enough to complete the task in hand anytime.

TIP: The ZV5000 looks and is very similar to the HP DV1000 screen so I would start from there. All guides are very nicely explained.

Please remember to remove the battery before you do any work with the laptop.

notebooks like toshiba's are hardware and software specific. Other hardwares will work but not guaranteed to provide full and satisfying results. Drivers may fix the problem. But I suggest you get a orginal Toshiba LCD

SOURCE: Replacement of Toshiba Satellite A135-4427 screen

  • First, purchase your replacement LCD display for your exact model of Toshiba A135. I found mine for about $110 with shipping.
  • There are five screws hidden beneath rubber bumpers around the screen. Carefully use a small flat screwdriver to remove the pencil eraser sized rubber bumpers - one at each corner, with the fifth at the top center. Make sure you carefully remove the sticky stuff they used to adhere the bumper to the screw as well. Set these carefully aside.
  • Remove the five screws and set them aside.
  • Gently press down at the inside plastic frame until it pops out slightly. Gently press towards the center of the screen at the sides of the inside plastic frame until it pops out.
  • Carefully separate the front and back plastic shell around the screen. Set the front plastic frame aside. You may need to loosen some of the white tape used to keep wires attached to the rear plastic shell. Gently lower the rear plastic shell away from the LCD, but leave as many wires attached as possible.
  • On the back of the LCD there is a large cable. Carefully pull up the tape that holds this cable in place and pull the cable down to remove it. You will also have another piece of white tape on the back of the LCD to peel back. The tape is important - don't tear it or get your fingers in it to remove its stick!
  • At one end you will see a set of a few wires plugged into a piece still attached to the rear plastic shell. Unplug this.
  • No wires should still be plugged into the LCD anywhere at this point.
  • Around the LCD there are six small screws. Remove these and set them aside. You now have now removed the old LCD.
  • Reverse this process to re-assemble.
  • You may want to use some blue LockTite (which can be found at hardware stores) for the screws as you replace them. Additionally, you might need a little rubber cement to re-attach the rubber bumpers at the last step. If you do not re-attach these bumpers, your screen will quickly become scratched by your keyboard touching it when the lid is closed.
Good luck!

Screen wont work Toshiba Satellite L555

It is sure that the screen/LCD panel is damaged and there is no option but to replace the whole unit.
If you are lucky check out on service shops for a scrapped L555 due to a mother board failure which would be reasonable.

The lcd screen is broken, I want to get it repaired. Where do I send it, and or what is a cost estimate?

They don't really repair it. They charge you more than $150 and send you a factory-refurbished replacement.

Toshiba Satellite P105-S6024 screen problem

If this is happening once the PC has fully loaded the OS. You then possibly have a bad inverter or bad LCD screen. Try reloading the video driver and see if this helps. If it doesnt then you will have to replace the inverter or LCD screen. A local repair shop should be able to replace these. And I would have them try to replace the inverter first as it is usually cheaper then the screen.

Best of luck and have a Happy and safe 4th of July weekend!

Yes it is possible. Nothing is impossible just highly improbable. That is the part your looking for... There are other ways of locating it. You may also just want to call nikon for an estimate as well.

Our Son hit a plastic ball into the face of our new Toshiba 40RV52U LCD display. We now have an area that looks like a splat and a hole in the picture. Is it possible to repair or replace the LCD screen?...

unfortunately it can't be repaired the entire panel will need to be replaced, most times the cost of the panel is as much or more then the cost of the tv. My son broke our 42" lcd after had it for only 3 weeks! Not covered under warranty...we had to replace tv. FYI there are companies that sell a clear protective screen for LCDs I bought one and it works great! One such website is but you can google and find alternatives.

Does the screen light up? You need to provide more info. The fix for this would be complicated for the average person. You could trash the system by opening it and not knowing what you are doing. Most likely the screen needs replaced. Google for a local repair person as in "video game ds repair columbus ohio - or what city you live in.

S50 cracked LCD screen!

Bad luck, it seems. I don't think these devices were made with repairs in mind. You may have to buy a new S50. You can get some cheap on eBay or Google for any place with closeouts. If you get a new one, I'd suggest a Speck case for it. But don't pay that price for it. Again, you can Google for Speck case and get some cheap. I got four cases for $10.00.
