How to program an OLDER utilitec indoor digital 2-outlet timer

1) Copy following link to identify timer and download possible manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#49566

2) Clear description of buttons was key for finding same/similar timer.
This timer is sometimes substituted for Utilitec 155671, and is discontinued design from Woods, which could have been another brand name prior, but does not appear on internet otherwise.

3) Same timer design may be released again sometime. Expect the Chinese to grab anything not nailed down and flood market with 'new' line of cheapo timers with bogus 1 year warranty direct from no-email-smog-air-manufacturing LTD.

Have model TE02DHB/TE22DHB. Setting random mode but I do not see any "RND" on screen after following directions for random mode.

http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/TE02DHB-manual.pdf
Timer has to be programmed first with on and off times.

Manual says press FUNCTION and RND digits 'flash' on display
Then press set button
Then RND will appear on display.

Timer then uses your programmed on-off times, and randomly varies programmed on-off times in range from 2 to 30 minutes.
So if regular program says ON at 7, then random will vary ON time from 6:30 to 7:30, assuming timer functions as shown in manual and timer is not defective.

If above information does not work, then use circuit analyzer and check polarity of outlet.

I have model 0155671 but it doesnt look like the model online mine has four buttons across set time plus minus next riw is rnd ctd bottom is manual i dont understand when it says select 12 or 24...

A) 12-24 hour choice >> just use the 24 hour display.
That gives you day and night hours
I don't know why these companies offer 12hr-24hr option on timers.

B) Military time vs Regular time (military time does not use am and pm)
1 1am
2 2am
7 7am
11 11am
12 12noon
13 1pm
14 2pm
20 8pm
23 11pm
24 12midnight

C) Utilitec 0155671 is same as Woods 59377
Before Woods made 59377, they made 49566 (which is also called TD1101 and TD1300)

I think you have Woods 49566

Unplug timer to program
1) Set current time.
Hold in reset button for two seconds to clear memory
Press and hold TIME button to select 24 hours so there is no problem. Release Time button.

2) Program review:
Set up to 20 on-off programs.
You can select individual days, or groups of days, or all days of the week
For example MO-SU is all days of the week
For each ON time, you also must set OFF time.
So program1 ON is set, then program1 OFF is set
Each ON is set for day, hour and minute
Each OFF is set for day, hour and minute (select same days for OFF and that you chose for ON)
For example if you want timer to turn ON all days MO-SU, make sure OFF time is also set for all days MO-SU.

3) Program the timer:

Press arrow? until display shows PROG 1 ON
This is program1 ON.
Press SET button, but do not hold set button down as you did when setting current time.

Press SET button again, and program1 ON minute will start flashing
Press ? ? to select minute that you want for program1 ON.

program1 ON is set, next you will set program1 OFF

OFF
Press arrow? until display shows PROG 1 OFF
This is program1 OFF.
Press SET button, but do not hold set button down as you did when setting current time.
The days for program1 OFF will be flashing on display.
Press ? ? to select day, or groups of days that you want for program1 OFF.

Press SET button again, and program1 OFF hour will start flashing
Press ? ? to select hour that you want for program1 OFF.

Press SET button again, and program1 OFF minute will start flashing
Press ? ? to select minute that you want for program1 OFF.

program1 ON and OFF are set, next you will set program2 ON by repeating steps above.

If you do not want to set more programs, that is fine.
Timer lets you set up to 20 programs.

Finish programming: when program ON-OFFs are set, press TIME button and current time displays.

4) Last step:
Push manual override button until AUTO is displayed. This will let timer turn lights on and off.
Plug lamp into timer.
Lamp must be turned ON.
Plug timer into wall.

Woods In-wall Timer Heavy Duty, Model #59018 -- I just installed my timer and was able program and set the time, but when I push the manual override button to turn the light on, the light flashes and turns...

Quick answer:
1) Programming steps say 'press clock key to return to current time and day'
2) Use mode button and change between AUTO & RND >> try manual override in each mode
3) Does timer turn lights on-and-off with program, or do they blink too?
4) Swap Black and Red wires
5) Try timer on light in different room, on different circuit breaker
6) Timer might be defective

Longer answer:
Woods 59018 manual does not show troubleshooting steps except 'check wiring; switch Red and Black leads; and/or reset programming'

Seems unlikely you could program timer unless timer is wired correctly ... unless there is a short of some kind.

To review wiring.
Green goes to bare ground wire.
White goes to Neutral white wire (neutral is usually 2 or 3 white wires twisted together and shoved to back of box)
Black must connect to Hot from circuit breaker
Red must connect to Load (light, fan, motor etc)

How to test wiring
:
Disconnect timer and set aside.
Mark each wire
Separate wires in box so they don't touch
Use ordinary tester (you can tape tester leads to wood sticks)
Turn on power
You should have two black wires that were originally connected to switch
Test black wires to bare ground > when tester lights up, that is the Hot wire.
The other black wire goes to Load

Now you want to find the neutral.
Test the Hot black wire to white wires in box.
When tester lights up, that is neutral.

If everything checks out, I guess timer is defective.

Ge digital timer how do i set model 15079 lost instruction

http://www.jascoproducts.com
select support and enter the model number (15079) in the search field. the manual is downloadable. One thing the manual does not make clear is that the two plugs in this timer cannot be set independently of each other. Whatever two devices you plug in will go on and off at the same programmed setting.

Paste this code on you button. This generates a random color.

Red = Int(Rnd * 255)
Green = Int(Rnd * 255)
Blue = Int(Rnd * 255)

Form1.BackColor = RGB(Red, Green, Blue)
