Water will not stop filling. The fill level switch is broken. Any idea on a location of this switch.

The water level is detected by a pressure switch that is located in the control assembly, near to the control module. The switch looks like a round shaped plastic part with 3 or 4 spade connector and connected to a thin long rubber hose that extends inside the tub.

To find parts and diagrams for the appliance try entering the model number in the SEARS website that you find listed at the link below:

How to install presure switch

The pressure switch is located behind the control panel. Its unction is determining the level of water in the washer. The switch looks like a round shaped plastic switch connected to wires and to a long thin rubber hose. To replace the switch disconnect power. Undo the screws holding the control assembly. Remove control assembly cover. Disconnect wires from switch and undo the screw holding the switch. Pull out the rubber hose from the tub and perform operations in reverse order to install the new part.

The switch is part nr.4 in diagram below. Click on the picture to enlarge:

As first thing you should have checked the pressure switch. Test jumping the pressure switch. The switch determines when the drain part of the cycle is complete and turns off the pump to proceed to spinning phase. When the pressure switch is bad it will cause this problem.

If problem is the switch, before replacing the part you can try checking the hose attached to the switch and blowing into the pressure switch to remove eventual blockage.

If that is not the problem , then check gearbox, clutch and finally timer assembly, but those would be less common faults causing no spin.

Here parts and diagrams.

Whirlpool Mod # LSB6200KQC continues to fill with

The water level is controlled by the pressure switch which is located behind the load level selector knob on the control panel. There is a small clear plastic hose that attaches to the pressure switch that senses the pressure change from the wash tub as the washer fills. This change in pressure is what will determine when the pressure switch turns off.

Commonly, what happens is the hose becomes detached inside the console causing the pressure switch to not work. The following link explains:

Before assuming the pressure switch to be faulty, follow the advice in the link provided. What appears to be a significant problem, may just be something as simple as a loose hose. Make sure you check the entire length of the hose for cracks or leaks.

Check the electrical connections on the switch as well to make sure they are not corroded, causing no contact.

If all else fails, replace the pressure switch. Replacements can be found at for about $21. Locate item 12 under Section 4 (Controls and Rear Panel Parts).

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Water will not shut off to begin cycle

Does the washer leak water into the tub even when it is not on. If so, your fill valve is leaking or sticking.

I would also check the following components for problems:
-Air pressure switch. This is usually located inside the control area and likely is attached to the water level control. Try attaching a small piece of tubing to the pressure switch and gently blow into it. If it turns off, the problem likely lies elsewhere.

-Air tube. This clear tube can get crimped or worn from the vibration of the washer's normal operation. Any holes, cracks or crimps will prevent the air pressure created by the water in the tub from getting to the pressure switch.

-Soap residue in the air dome. The airdome is the piece attached to the side of the washtub that allows water in the tub to exert air pressure into the tube and the pressure switch. Soap residue can create an obstruction that prevents the pressure from being transmitted up the tube. Try cleaning with vinegar or ammonia. (Remember: Clean the tub and tubing thoroughly with water after cleaning. Ammonia and Vinegar are both corrosive to electrical parts.)

Hope this helps!
