T is nearest. Leaks are where the joints are not sealing and water escapes. Dry the area then turn on the water slowly, try to spot where the water appears first and detect which joinWhen putting joints back together without adding a sealant or teflon (PTFE) tape, they will sometimes leak. Take the joints apart again and use a small amount of a paste designed to seal joints, spread on the threads of the joints. Tighten them firmly once and let the compound set for 10 minutes before turning on the water.

Leaking coolant in my 1997 royal star, how do i trace the sources and quickly repair. I have 2000ks to get home

If the pressure cap is not holding pressure, it is allowing water in the coolant to evaporate. It can also let the engine overheat as the pressure raises the boiling point of the coolant to around 250 degrees F. Without pressure the boiling point is much lower, bubbles form reducing circulation and allowing local engine overheating.

Assuming the coolant is not getting into the oil,go to an auto parts store and buy a bottle of "Bars Leak", the one with dehydrated vegetable fibers in water soluble oil, it looks like dark liquid with lumps. (Under no circumstance ever use anything with aluminum flakes in it, even though Bars Leaks makes one like that too.) Stir it up well and use maybe 1/8-1/4 of the jar, at most in the cooling system and top off the coolant. (Or follow Bars Leak instructions) Run the engine to fully warmed up, drive it around and the bars Leak will usually plug the leak. It works by the fibers gathering in the leak, as the water soluble oil dissolves and the water gets to the fibers, they swell up and make a "permanent" repair. Watch the coolant level and engine temperature on your ride home.

How to stop the bar chain oil leak

There should be an adjusting screw around the bar somewhere. Turn it anti clockwise until it stops and then just crack it one turn. If it still leaks too much then turn it down slightly.also try and store the saw on its side to stop the oil just coming out.

I have a 359 chainsaw leaks lots of chain oil even when not running

It will never be completly leak free, if it is bad it could be a number of things, first check the oil pick up hose behind the pump, if this is a poor fit in the crankcase it will leak oil from around the sides, worst case is a leak from the crankcase gasket itself, this would require a full strip down, try draining the oil tank and re filling with cleaning fluid, as this is much thinner you will see very quickly from where it is comeing.

Water punp is linking

if the pump is leaking from around the gasket then gasket needs replaced but if the leak is coming from the bottomout of a weep hole then the barring is bad and water pump needs replaced this is a very comm in chev water pumps

To radiator doesn't have the leak, it's the broken head gasket. And it will cost around $3000.00. I don't have the money. Anyway, I thought I would try the Bar's Leaks, and it says to put in...

i don't know about bars leak , check with an auto parts store for a product like seal all, you put it in the rad drive for fifteen minutes the let the engin cool, not a permanent fix but it should get you six months to a year, good luck to you

Small coolant leak at front of engine hose area, not always maybe 1 out of 5 times driving to work.

If you can narrow down where the leak is coming from, it will be easier for you to fix, but it is most likely either a minor radiator leak, or your water pump. You can put a can of radiator stop leak in your vehicle, such as bars leak. It wont hurt anything. If the leak continues, and appears to be coming from the engine area, the water pump is failing, but also check around the thermostat housing, near where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine

The main faucet is leaking-when I use the sep. handle the faucet still leaks. Is a problem with a seal in the faucet or could it be a problem with the handle to shut it off?

if it leaking around the base of the would be spout o-rings....if it is dripping from the aerator then it is the seat and springs in the handle.

Leaks bar oil

The chainsaw squirts oil into the oil hole in the bar. The chain picks up the oil and carries it all the way around the bar lubing it and the chain. When you quit running the saw there is still a lot of oil on the chain and all away around the chain guide in the bar. Once you quit running it and it sets a while all the oil will follow gravity and run to the bottom of the bar and drip out into the case. It's just another one of life's little nuisances. Have a nice day! Obwhon
