Water inlet gears have slipped

My AEG 74620 OKO Lavamat washing machine has a cluster of 3 gears that determine into which of the detergent holder's partitions the water will flow on intake. Is there an easy way (other than trila and error) to line thses gears up so that water flows correctly? Sny advice will be highly appreciated
