Screen turns purple and images do not come out

When trying to take a picture, the screen turns purple and when an image is captured, nothing but a blank purple image occurs. At other times, the image has purple backgrounds or appears like a negative.

Maryelizabeth,

Unfortunately that sounds like the CCD (screen) is bad/going out. I would contact Kodak via the guided Assistant online repair tool here.

SOURCE: my screen is purple no image

Possible the camera CCD is faulty as it may be damaged due to high lightt exposure . Hence it is producing the purple haze in the screen , specially when it is exposed to any light.
If will be good to take consensus with the service centre, get estimate and decide.

Hi,

Based on the information you've provided it seems that the CCD Image Sensor of the Camera is affected which displays the live view of the Camera and the image which get captured. If the Image Sensor is affected, the previous views of the images and the icons will get displayed as normally, but the live view and the captured images will be distorted or blacked out. You may try power resetting to check if the issue can be resolved.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

I SEE the green light when I turn on the camera but LCD screen of Sony DSC-F505V is dark black, nothing happens-total silence and cannot take any pictures. Did I loose my camera? Solution?

Hi,

Based on the information provided it seems that the issue may be with the LCD Screen. You can check if the Camera is working by capturing images and inserting the Memory Stick in the Computer Memory Card slot. If the image capturing is normal then the images can be saved to the Computer. If the images are not getting captured, then the issue may be with the Camera. We can try power resetting the Camera to resolve the issue.
Turn off the Camera.
Remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
Then, allow the Camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
If the issue persists after resetting, then service may be required to identify the exact cause.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Sony DSC-N1 "capturing". I take pictures and after I hit the button I get a message "capturing" then "processing". This ties up th screen for a while and then comes back on, trying to retrieve the pics, I...

Capturing- means that the image is being registered in the CCD-
Processing means - the processor is dealing with the capture.
Both should take but a scond or so.
If it takes longer and the result is No image.
Then it is iether a cared fault or camera failure
Which?
Try another card is the best thing to do
Take it to a shop and let them have ago rather thasn buy a new card only to find the camera has died,

Dark pictures

Be sure that you are capturing images in the right shooting mode. For example, if shooting a night scene your image will be underexposed and dark if the image is captured in the Program Auto mode for regular photography, or in any mode other than Night Scene. Be careful that when capturing images, nothing is obstructing the flash.
